I've had this idea - it's free to a good home as I don't have the time or resources to do it myself. Basically, when I go on holiday I like everything to be taken care of up front, so I generally gravitate towards package holidays. There are some places, however, where I'd love to go but there are no packages available. The biggest blocker appears to be finding a way of getting from the airport to the accommodation. Some countries are a complete minefield as you can't work out the public transport, or it doesn't go anywhere near where the hotel is, and the journey might be too far for a taxi to be affordable. Maybe some enterprising sort could come up with a way of building a transport network that would work with the airlines and/or hotels to proved transfers as a 'bolt-on' option when you book the accommodation or the flights and have a recognisable person waiting for you at the airport. When I've done package holidays with Thomson you step off the plane and it's virtually impossible to miss the reps who then direct you to your coach. Surely a stand-alone service that integrates with airlines and hotels and makes the travel element of a holiday that's been booked in separate components as easy as as a package holiday has massive potential?

I've never been on a package holiday and I've been to some pretty remote places in the world and I've never got lost.

I got off at the wrong stop on a plane journey to the Corn Islands in Nicaragua, but I don't think an airport transfer would of helped me there. rotate

Hi Mitch,

Lots of options for this already:

ResortHoppa
Travelcube
Holiday Taxis
GetABed
A2B Transfers
etc etc

The majority of these companies will provide you transfer only costs as well as quote you for bespoke transfers if needs be.

In my experience just because it's booked doesn't mean it's going to happen!

One of the attractions for me of NOT going on a package holiday, is to rent a car/bike/moped and actually spend some time seeing the country I am in, rather than sitting in a hotel complex which could be pretty much anywhere.

That is quite the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. Reminds me why I never go on a package holiday and stay in a resort.

A resort with unlimited sun loungers, now there's an idea.
