Astra H is the model type (2004 - 2014):

Club is the trim level.

The recalls were for possible loss of steering and risk of fire weren't they? Never had any issues with those with my astra h.

If I can put my tuppence in mate, don't get one
Worst car I've ever owned
Terrible economy for performance, low quality interior, lots of little niggles (and mine was only in the 30,000's!)
The focus of the same age is a much better buy IMHO

Never heard of loss of steering/fire recalls.

There was some for the CIM (Column Information Module) because it packed up and stopped the car from starting but thats all.

Fire one possibly the zafira ventilation system, but that doesn't affect astras.

Agreed. Mines had nothing but problems, only 60k as well.

Blimey, you could buy an Astra H in 2014? I thought I saw a late registered Astra on a '10' plate. I'm assuming they weren't available in the UK as late as 2014 but could be totally wrong.

In the name of balance, my brothers in laws gifted them one years ago (10 or so), a bog spec 1.6 and it has done them for years and never needed a thing outside routine servicing and consumables.

I think in the UK, the "H" only ran until 2011/2012 but may have gone on to 2014 in other markets but here it got replaced by the Astra "J".

They were still churning them out for Russia after they were discontinued in the UK it seems.

Indeed, I drove them at work for about four years. They were dropping to pieces by 100,000 miles and always showing faults and breaking down. Not nice to drive, either.

It was replaced in the UK in 2009 but ran for longer in other countries. I was only quoting it from wikipedia anyway.
