After deliberating about how to get around what I was going to use, I have finally come up with what I think is a great idea.
No matter where the plate was stuck into the front bumper it just didn't look right. The only option I liked the look of was the Rhoplate towbar kit but that was import only from the US.
So I settled on this.
Remember those little metal u shape brackets that come with a set of aftermarket speakers? I used two of those over the grille and a bit of double sided sticky foam and I think it looks OK. Pretty good in fact.
Total cost £2.95, and that was for the plastic screw caps.

Using a full plate that's prob the best option, a smaller 75 deep plate will fit the bumper, many appear to run without them, very common on lambos and Ferraris so guess ok on an Alfa

I believe being pulled for having no plate is potentially a £30 fine, no points. I have read about many without front plates for years who have never been pulled.

If you can pull the plate from the boot and say 'it fell off officer' I wouldn't be surprised if you get away with it, so potentially the answer is to scratch and dirty your front plate and put it in the boot?

I think you are legally allowed to have the plate in the windscreen, not on the front of the car.

Got one of these on my S4 Spider. I keep the original in the boot so they are really easy to swap over, should you meet pedantic plod or MOT man.

In the uk I don't have a front plate but For continental trips in the 4c I run the 355x76 flexi plate from these guys, fits the section of bumper above the grill well and the letters are pushed to the edge so look big enough and being flexi it bends easily to the profile of the bumper so only needs a few bits of tape

Go to the size option near the end, default is std, click that and there are no end of shapes and options, you can also have a background of Alfa Romeo with another option
