Need a bit of advice from fellow 4C leasers if possible?

My coupe is due for return on 6th of October, earlier this month, the dreaded creaking started coming form the front bushes. I booked it in to my local dealer for them to take a look, and they confirmed. They also noted that the paint around the filler cap was 'de-laminating' and could also be covered by warranty. Brilliant I thought. Unfortunately, due to the parts required and current bookings, they cant get the car in until after my return date. I called Leasys to explain the situation, and they said I would need to extend my lease agreement at my own cost and get the issues rectified before returning the car.

In my opinion, this is unfair. Firstly, neither issue with the car is my fault, it is manufacturing defects. Secondly, I have no want or need to keep the car (due to a new car arriving) past the contract term, ESPECIALLY at my own cost.

Leasys have given me the customer relations email to make a complaint, but thought I would seek some advice to see where I stand first. I may post this in the car buying forum also.

If this thread is anything to go by you can expect an increase of around 30% on you current term. I’m not aware of anyone who’s extended their lease on similar terms - hence the huge rise in 2nd hand cars at present.
If only it was a 30% increase. My extension quote was £250 to £687

I actually got an unsolicited offer from Leasys for an 8 month extension on exactly the same terms. However, seeing as I wasn't working at the time, I decided I'd better let the car go.

Already consigned mine to depart next July with the plan being to buy a good 50th anniversary coupe the following summer

I thought that the 50th Anniversary was Spider only - as that's what it was the 50th Anniversary of...….

Feel a bit like I'm on the countdown for the 4C to leave me now... cry

Anyone got any experience with warranty type issues when a car is collected!?

Have a few niggles that I'm not sure if I can be bothered getting fixed (about an hour's drive to the dealer so hardly excited to waste my petrol / miles / time - and most importantly lose the car for however long)

The window rubbers are perishing and the paint around the running lights is flaking off. I also have a bad water leak in the boot but obviously that won't be picked up...

Would you bother!?
They all do that on the drl's

A. Yes
B. Define reasonable

Also wouldn't mine buying mine, however I can't see it being a decent price based on previous feedback. I don't value any sentiment of owning it from new etc. So I'd much rather buy a lower mileage with a better spec (for less!)

Surely there are better spec ones available on the market for less? I'd be damned if I'm buying my 'lease spec' 4c even if I did want to keep driving one!

I do agree that there's nothing else out there at this price range that's as fun to drive whilst turning so many heads!

...also to the other guy, my window rubbers have perished just as badly. Wasn't planning to get them changed under Warrenty though but now you're making me wonder if they might pick up on it?

Reasonable i.e. less than similar vehicles available from dealers.

No there isn’t.

My spec is fully nailed on perfect. I got one of the 10 late Mango cars at a price I basically stole it from them, damn near fully loaded and my perfect colours.

I’d also have to pay em over £2k for excess miles for them to take it away and then I’d still have to go buy another car.

This is all you need for the windows rubbers. It's easy to put on and if you layer a few coats the rubber trim will come up looking like new again. You can buy it from lots of car detailing sites or Amazon, Ebay etc.

I've just had a quote for an extension. Current figure £317, new rental £601 (no additional miles).
