Yep going to use it as much as possible really. I used to commute 25miles each way Monday to Friday (going back a fair few years now so younger and probably more tolerable) in a vx220. Besides dragging my trousers through the water collected on the sill it was all good!

I feel the same as you tbh, won't feel real until I have the keys!

To be honest I think I slightly prefer the look of the coupe but Variava told me the won't be any standard spec coupes comming to UK any time soon, and other dealers told me similar- it sounds like they are changing the design of the tub and won't be building any more for a while
It's my understanding the tubs had been redesigned already for new cars around the turn of the year but as with all things different sources say different things

Placed my order on Saturday and had verbal confirmation that all went through okay this afternoon and that Peter will be in touch with a delivery date in the next few weeks - just waiting for the email confirmation now.

In true leasing spirit I went for black with fairly limited options (couldn't resist the yellow brake callipers though). Spent the extra on upping the mileage! Will powder coat the standard wheels and get them returned to normal before return I reckon.
How much extra per month were the calipers? I think I'll end up speccing red. Expensive but look great, hassle to do yourself to get the same quality finish and Alfa may moan on return!

Not a huge amount more - around £11 per month I think. Thought they were necessary to break up the all black theme.

I was informed on the phone that the sports exhaust was a no cost option but that wasn't the case unfortunately - although probably for the best since it will be my primary mode of transport and will see a motorway at least once a week (I went for a 30k allowance over the term).

Will anybody be taking theirs for a trip to Alfa works?

Only the dealer will know that unless someone has already been turned away.

It's still advertised anyway:

I put an order in yesterday, I've gone against all lease rules and spec'd Alfa Red, 5 hole alloys, yellow calipers and upped the mileage to 8k a year. Worked out at £3090 up front and £343.39 a month. It still comes under 25% so I'm happy.

I've received the forms etc, and sent the funding prop form back yesterday but haven't heard anything since and haven't been asked for a deposit???

I went to see one in my local Alfa dealership on the Sunday and fell in love so I'm literally panicking that I'm going to miss out on this deal!

How long till people had to put the deposit down? Did you get your finance check approved first? Tried calling Peter today but he was not available. I'm literally staring at my phone waiting for it to ring, I am literally obsessed!!! Can someone put my mind at rest please smile

I just can't understand them selling them that cheap, that is almost identical to the car I ordered from unity - with Red/5 hole wheels/Xenons with 10k miles I was quoted £400 (9+23). Alfa walked away from orders for 29 cars in the end - I can't see why they would put together an even better deal again now. It doesn't make sense to flood the market with cheap 2 year lease bargains for factory order cars when they seem to take ages to sell any of the current used car stock. Those figures over 24 months doesn't even cover the VAT and VED for a £55k car! At least with the 50th Spider deals those cars were already built a long time ago and have been struggling to sell so makes more sense to do a promotion to clear them.

Did they give you any indication on lead times? I'm sorry to be negative and hope you do get it but I would say proceed with caution, some people had already sold their cars last time before Unity realised they had made a mistake.

haha me too! filled out the forms Friday evening but haven't heard anything back yet. I've went with no additional options but upped the mileage to 8k which came in at £281. If the deal materialises I'll try and pick up a set of OEM 18 -19s or go for something aftermarket. At least I'll own the wheels when I have to hand the car back

Well I was told there were only 6 available. There's a good 5 of us on here!...

To the chap that is finding himself obsessed... It's normal don't worry! A load of us (29!) felt the same earlier on in the year with Unity. There's a good chance that this is Unity v2.0 so don't go away telling all your friends and family just yet...

Did the forms on Friday, called to chase it up on Saturday and left my card details for the deposit. Called them yesterday to chase it up and got a call back later to say the anniversary car I wanted was no longer available.

Nothing has left my account yet so doesn't look like the deposit was taken. I'm waiting to hear back from Peter with quotes for alternative spec spiders but if he's not available today then I'm doubtful I'll end up with anything.

Missed out the first time with Unity and now this deal. Ah well

I believe there were only 6 stock Spiders available unless I'm mistaken.

I was informed that there isn't a defined number with regards to factory build orders. Spoke to Peter this morning who again reiterated that this is not a Unity mkII fiasco, that the entire team had triple checked the legitimacy of the deal with all echelons of the Alfa hierarchy and that deposits would be taken over the next day or two.

As somebody who was burned last time, I'm strangely calm . .

I'm glad somebody has actually managed to Speak to Peter today, and that it still sounds promising. The deal almost sounds too good to be true and I've read a lot about the Unity mishap which is why I think I'm so on edge.

I feel a little more assured, but until my deposit is paid and I get a build slot, I'm going to prepare for the worse and pray for the best!

I find it amazing how worked up I can get over cars.

I look forward to hearing other peoples progess on here smile

I was the other side of the world when the Unity deal was going on and literally got up at 4am (5hr difference) to pay deposit and secure a car. Unity are forever dead to me. If this car doesn't turn up then Alfa Romeo as a brand are dead to me...or maybe I'll just buy one anyway 😆 I havent been able to get this car offf my mind since that fiasco back in march!

So what stage is everyone at and which company did they order from. I believe the two deals people are going for is TH White for the Anniversary Edition Spider and Thames Motor Group for the standard coupe.

I went with Thames Motor Group for the standard coupe. I went for black and only added the bi-xenons (only added £3 to the monthlies).

My deposit has been taken from my account and an incomplete Hire Purchase Agreement received. Obviously, they can't send the complete one until build starts in September and they have the vehicle details. I've returned a copy of my driver licence and believe I'm at a point now where I should expect no further communication until September.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread to see how everyone is getting on.

I'm with Chris Variava - Anniversary Edition Spider. Ordered just over 2 weeks ago, had finance approved signed an order form but it isn't a credit agreement, heard very little since! Variava sold at least six Spiders on their deal and supposedly took delivery last week!

White limited edition spider for me through TH White. Paul took my details, ran the finance and sourced the car whilst I was on the phone and transferred it to his stock list. Deposit paid, order form received, signed and returned along with licence copy. Initially told 2-3weeks until the car arrived.

No response from Peter today, I even called and left a message this afternoon. Given up hope on even getting a reasonably priced stock spider now. Back to the drawing board.
