Hi I seem to be already notorious..... don't have a problem with the AROC forum and Firefox though, bit puzzled by that bit confused

I find this forum a bit clunky compared to the others I loaf about on though.

I am a member of AROC

I am 26, if you use the discounts the membership pays for its self.

It's not so much the forum but the AROC site itself: the links don't work and the alignment/spacing goes to pot as soon as the page loads. It works fine in IE, however.
Now I've got the forum's URL bookmarked in FF, I'll try and use it a bit more often. I just wish they'd sort the site/homepage out!

Once we have a new webmaster in place I shall raise the issue at a MT meeting.

Some familiar folk on here, I'm an AROC member although I'm up for renewal so should get that sorted this week, looking forward to some more good events next year like SAD which was excellent. Pleased to meet the Petrolheads Alfistis.

wavey Hello!

I'm not a member at the moment - I was before, but didn't get much out of it although you could argue I didn't put much in either. One of the reasons I joined was the Chris Knott insurance deal, but they told me my Alfa didn't exist (!) which was a bit disappointing for the 'official' AROC insurers. That was a few years ago, so I'll give them another try when its due at the end of this month.

Other than that, it seems to vary enormously from area to area. For me, the Scottish section seems a bit quiet (web site last updated 20th October) but that's maybe partly because of the geography - I guess it's hard to organise an event that's accessible for members from Dumfries and from Inverness.

That's unfortunate, the Yorkshire AROC bunch seem to put on some really good shows, correct me if im wrong but I think they did SAD last year and that was really good. Met a few of the lads from AO down there, you should bring the SZ down next year, I think it was just RZ's at SAD.

Yes it was the Yorkshire section that organised SAD, SZ's do attend regularly, but I can't remember an RZ recently.
SZ are the tin top (Plastic I suppose!) RZ the rag top.
This years SAD was probably one of the best yet, good venue and lots of interesting cars. It would be worth making a weekend out of it as there it's lots to see and do around the Derbyshire, Yorkshire areas.

Apologies for the thread resurrection, but if you are a member of AROC, and feel that the club needs to 'freshen up' to appeal to younger owners and owners of younger Alfa, then then have a look at this thread and make your thoughts known!

I'm an AROC member and on their forum as Alfafan.

I've been a member for about 20 years and am of an age that many would consider a beardie. I've owned a succession of Alfas, mostly bought when they were about 4 or 5 years old (financial constraints apply), so were considered to be "modern". I have never felt patronised by those owning classics.

At the meetings and events I attend, we're basically united by a love of the marque and the sheer enjoyment we get from driving some of the best driving machines around. I've been encouraged by the enthusiasm to invest in a classic myself (a 1976 Spider) and driving it is great fun. Is it better than my 155 or some of the Suds and Sprints I've owned? No, it's just different, but just as enjoyable.

Maybe some of the non-AROC PH posters could be encouraged to join if the AROC forum was opened up to non-members? What do we have to lose?

wavey I'm an AROC member but rarely post on there - except when my 156 GTA needed its alternator changing. Enjoy the monthly mag though. Also got a Step front awaiting restoration into GTA replica and just bought a Bargain 1993 164 TS ready for the Staples to Naples run in September.

Hi,

I post on AROC too under Jeffrz. Posted about my GTV being dead at the mo. It has been with my bruv in law and is back to life now! Don't know what's happened sensor or something like that I believe. Not 100% but well on the way. All goes well I should have it back this week.

Cheers

They don't seem to be too swift to deal with membership applications. Filled in mine at least three weeks ago online and still haven't heard or received anything.

I'm with both AROC and alfaowner (ally) and active in the AROC Scottish Section.

I've not had very much time lately for browsing and posting as the business is really taking off.
I've never tried posting on the AROC site as it seemed a bit small and uninteresting. Perhaps I should try back some time.
