My partner is looking to buy new 150bhp diesel Ti model in red. I have to say it does look awesome. Anyone got one? I have concerns over the Alfa servicing and reliability although she'll only be doing 8K a year.

Any feedback greatly appreciated. Also if anyone got one for less than £16k I'd love to know to use it for negotiation

Personally I would go for a late 156 JTDm you can get a low miler for 10-11k tops.

Servicing is no problem, just use a specialist and make sure their adhere to AR's schedule and use Alfa parts you won't have a problem.

If you want to know which dealers are the best I've heard positive things about the following;

Mangoletsi - Cheshire
Platts - Longton
HR Owen - Fulham
Desira - Norwich
Perrys - Aylesbury

To name a few, I'm sure others will have different thoughts though.

My missis runs a 147 Lusso JTD - just the 8 valve version. Looks good, goes well, and well equipped. She finds it "easy to drive" but she didn't like driving my old 156 (too big/heavy/paranoid about my alloys!).

As Mr Horn says, you need to find a good dealer and/or independant specialist. I would add Dews in Brighouse to the list as one of the new breed of good dealers and Wyn Lear in Keighley as an excellent specialist.

Alfa UK are currently sorting out their dealer network and it is leaving some areas without dealers - for the time being - while new ones are being nurtured.

Just a thought - isn't the 147 due another facelift quite soon? I think there is a run out limited edition on the go at the minute. Worth checking!

We've got the 120bhp petrol TI, and I like it. The only slight reservations I have are about the engine which needs working hard to make much progess, but obviously that won't apply to the diesel.

The TI was a limited edition, which I thought (nearly sure) stopped production last year, so you might want to check with the dealer how new it actually is.

As Rick says, the Collezione is the current limited edition which is a little bit cheaper than the TI was and has almost all the same stuff - I think it's missing parking sensors and not sure if it has dual-zone climate control.

The Ti is a limited edition and all the franchise dealers have sold all there Ti pack cars, they only had 200 cars so they are quite rare we have some in stock that are higher specification than the cars offered by Alfa UK.

I am up in Aberdeen, but thanks for the recommendations guys.

Big Ned, I assume you work for an Alfa dealer, where are you? What's your best deal on a 3 door, pre-registered diesel Ti?

Can you find out if Arnold Clark in Aberdeen is likely to be one of the dealers looking their franchise, problem with this far up north is the next dealer is likely to be over 100 miles away.

Hi

I don’t work for an Alfa dealer, I own the largest independent supplier of new Alfa Romeo’s in the country. I am in no way linked to Alfa UK or ever will be. The Alfa Romeo product is fantastic; the UK dealer network is an embarrassment to the product.

Arnold Clark is to be no more, but you don’t have to use an Alfa Romeo UK dealer for your servicing only for your warranty work, that said a Fiat dealer can do any warranty work that needs to be done. There you are no need for an Alfa dealer.

Sorry we don’t have an Alfa Red 3 door only a 5 door and we don’t pre register cars you would be the first owner on the new 07 registration.

I don’t want to turn this into an advertising campaign as this is a forum for petrol heads like my self. You can see plenty about us on www.alfaowner.com but please bear in mind most of the negative stuff is people that work at UK franchiser dealers trying to justify there prices see the link below:

The nearest specialist that I know of, is CP garage services in Dundee, not sure if there is one in Aberdeen.

It's not so much servicing but warranty.... Will need to ask them where it goes for warranty work. Arnold Clark also have Fiat, if they loose that then I would be totally screwed.

What is a "ALFA ROMEO 147 JTD Ti M-Jet 150bhp"

I assume this is a lower spec than the Ti. Does it have cruise control for example?

The manufacture – Alfa Romeo

The model – 147

The engine – 1.9 JTD 150 BHP M-Jet (super reliable and powerful)

The Ti pack – 17” Spoked Ti wheels, Leather upholstery, sport suspension, dark head lining, rear park assist, rear spoiler, mats, Ti sill trims and a badge on its bum.

The Ti is basically a Lusso with the above items added. The Ti we supply also has a Winter pack and a Comfort pack. Cruse control is standard on a Lusso so yes our Ti 147’s come with cruse.

The Ti was only available in 130 Alfa Red, 846 Metallic Black and 603 Novona Gray from Alfa UK and it is not possible to order with any other extras. We can order them in any colour and with any extras, I have one in stock with nearly every option including sat nav.

I am not advertising I work with these cars all day every day.

So what about our Alfa UK supplied Gabbiano Blue 147ti?

Winter pack – heated seats, headlight washers and heated windscreen washer jets.

Comfort pack – third rear head rest, arm rest in the rear seats, lumber support on drivers seat, and a luggage net.

693 Gabbiano Blue discontinued across the 147 and GT range about 8 months ago. If your Ti is in 693 Gab Blue then sorry it is not a Ti, I would have a nice chat with your supplying dealer. I can send you all the appropriate information if required.

Thinking about it you could have an old shape 1.6 in 693 Gab Blue as there was as short run of these built.

They are franchised, however they are not part of another organisation such as Pendragon, Sytner etc, etc.
