On an Alfa 156 V6.

I have 15'' wheels at the moment and have read going to 16'' or 17'' will improve the handling.

Anyone any idea if this would be the case?

Cheers

The 16" wheels were part of the Veloce spec from the factory with 205/55/16 tyres. Should be easy to get hold of and fairly cheaply too. The dealer fit 17" wheels were too heavy for the suspension to cope with, although they do look good. 16" is the best compromise and worth doing although you will lose some ride quality.

In what way do they improve the handling??.
On a billiard smooth race track or out there in the real world, the dampers can't cope with the mass of a set 17" wheels let alone the extra mass from the 19". What profile tyres are you running and have you any fillings left?.
