I've been looking around for a replacement sports exhaust for a 2.0 TS GTV Spider but not really found much is available from the mainstream exhaust manufacturers (peco, ansa, mongoose etc).

Anyone replace theirs or have any links or info about any?

The standard exhaust is a bit restictive and doesn't sound great until revved high....

Cheers!

Thanks PDV.

I know I have a new Alfa system fitted just before I bought the car the other week, so all as new but I may slip that straight pipe in place of the central silencer.

I have a straight through ragazon rear section on mine, it removes 2 silencers but is still a little quieter than I would like, it seems to be quite good quality.

Thanks for the info and links folks, I may go for the Ragazzon rear section to replace the 2 rear silencers to start with since it's not a huge expense and then if I'm not happy I'll go for the other stainless system and new sports cat.

I think I'll go for the Ragazzon rear straight thru section but from Gazella as they are £50 less for the same product.

That's the one, won't be too loud for road use will it?

Hmm you might want to check with them, technically speaking it says it's not approved for road use, now whether that affects you getting it through an MOT I wouldn't know, but worth checking I'd say.

I'm thinking of going for this one....

But I'm going to have a listen first, can't really do that in the office!

Well, I really miss the noise of my TVR, so I decided to go loud with the rear section and have just 2 silencers and the CAT and I went for the twin oval rear pipes

I don't mind if it drones a bit as this isn't an everyday car; regarding the MOT - there are no rules on noise levels, only defective exhausts (holes or leaks) so should be OK as long as the tester isn't an idiot or easy cash seeker!

It should be here in a few days and I'll fit it next weekend all being well. I'll post on this thread again and let you know what I think.

I was hoping you'd say that

That's a great site, the Gazella one, I can see myself getting the Tarox disc upgrade (£250) as I'm not entirely happy that the thing stops as quickly as I'd like, and the FK Coilover suspension upgrade kit (£450), and the exhaust.....either the one I'm looking at which is £220, or the one you're going for. Be ready for a summer of hooning around then.

That's interesting as I find my brakes really effective, are your discs and pads all OK?

The ride and handling I know is a bit soft for very spirited driving and cornering but I really do think it does a pretty good job without making the ride uncomfortable. Mine feels pretty fresh since it's only done 40k miles but when I do need to pay attention to any of the suspension I think I'll go for standard parts. One thing I think would be a good addition is a strut brace but other than that I think I'll keep it all standard, perhaps polly bushes are also a good idea.

Hmmm maybe I'll get them looked at, might just be that I'm coming from a MKII MR2 which was a very light car that I'd put nice fat 17" wheels on, stoppped on a dime, I'm also getting used to ABS and power steering on a sports car ( I have it on my Megane but I drive that thing like a shopping trolly ). It could do with some proper tyres on it too, the woman who had it before had basically put what was cheapest on, some make I've never heard of ( and not in a good way ) It was very well looked after though otherwise.

The ride is firm enough to be honest, I'm probably just having at attack on the spendies having seen that site.

You'll find it responds well to a set of GY Eagle F1 GSD3s - will improve braking as well.

My GTV has the OEM Brembo brakes - the front discs are over 5½ years old and the rears are the originals. Last MOT I took it to the tester came away saying "the brakes on that are sh1t hot!"
