Hi all,
Just a quick question my son's coupe 20v turbo has been parked up for 2 months and battery was dead so he disconnected it to charge, after reconnecting engine turns over but does not fire we also towed it but nothing, does fiat have an immobiliser which needs a code or something any ideas???

That's your problem then. If you disconnect your battery you need the red key to restart it (even by Fiat standards, a really stupid idea). I think you need the ECU reprogrammed, but I'm sure someone here has more specific experience?

my nieghbour's just bought one and it had the same problem.a fiat mechanic told him to take the battery off and charge it over night and put it back on the next day as sometimes that resets the computer after a dead battery.it never worked so the mechanic told him to press the accelerator pedal the same amount of times as the numbers for the immobiliser code (as you would with a car stereo)he did this and it worked.if you need anymore info i will go and see my nieghbour and he can tell you exactly what he did.all the best
