"Pretty car!"

In my opinion its one of the best looking cars currently in production, and with Maserati underpinings what could be better smile

I honestly thought the SZ/RZ would be the last good Alfa made, but now it looks like we now have a new SZ for the 2000's

Has anyone heard it yet? if it sounds anything like the Quattreporte i will be happy!

Was i dreaming or did someone early on in this thread say that this makes a change as most Alfas were ugly?

My god man!

Managing Director of Alfa Romeo UK, Christopher Nicoll, says: "This is a perfect example of the new direction for Alfa Romeo on the international stage. The fact that we long ago sold our UK allocation is testament to our rich heritage of producing emotive and exotic performance cars."

risky, living on your heritage..... love;ly car but won't keep alfa afloat....
Re: above- I know what you mean about living off your herritage and IMO that is what Fiat have been making Alfa do so far, with pretty cars and only mundane FWD Fiat under pinnings, but this car doesnt need to keep them afloat- rather, be technically competent, charismatic, beautiful and a bit of an image booster to reinject the marque with much needed kudos.

I think it's automotive art. Its not pretentious and fugly like Bangles stuff- which is usually trying to be different for the sake of being different. It's classically good looking without picking up the latest trends of making cars edgey looking and quite ugly.

Alfa seems to have nabbed all the best bits of all the gorgeous models doing the rounds at the mo and by some miracle managed to combine all those ingredients into something totally gorgeous. A spot of Aston, dash of Ferrari, a touch of TVR and a pinch of Bugatti i think. I want!
Eh? It's all Alfa. 33 Stradale & TZ2 all the way.

Ahh the price smile

There is a story behind that aswell!

Who else had a mini heart attack when they saw the price increase on their order form?

Not really a history buff but perspective please. Alfa have a long history of beautiful and successful racing and road cars. They are at liberty to use their signature curves (see T33 stradale) in the new model.
Lamborghini cars was started in a fit of pique, because Ferrari was not for sale. Ferrari started as the racing team for Alfa Romeo. TVR is what it was. Aston and Bugatti are proper olde school, however.
As in art, what is really original?
edited to make more sense, not sure it worked. Anyway going to see it today so can get it out of my system.

I know it's a whole other conversation, but - if you're referring to the Veyron - can you really call it gorgeous? Amazing, yes? Gorgeous, hmm....

seen it in the flesh today and it is still gorgeous. Reminds me of the Bond Girl in Casino Royale, stunner in the silk dress who gets it early on.
Still wished I had ordered one, but I was only prepared to go to 911 money for one. Doh!!

I've got no real complaints about the one I had - it was a more interesting alternative to an XR3i, anyway.

Im not actually allowed to comment or rather Ive been politely asked not to say anything on my situation with regards my 8C. I have no intention of abusing that request.

There are though (I think) 2 ppl on here with their names down for an 8C from previous conversations.

Not especially. The guy asked and I answered as best I could. This board *is* watched by Alfa and Ive no intention of pissing them off!
