Look at all that trash?

Was the circus in town?
haha, the spider wouldnt look out of place in one of those spots at all!
I'd recommend a little drive into any Hotel de Paris underground car-park - stuffed full of beauties!

...My little spider was getting lots of looks in St Trop - I put it down to the fact that there were at least 5 each of the current 'new' lambos or ferraris - but only one little Alfa Spider!

Slightly envious that you got your certificate signed, that's a really nice touch. Although if there's a single year where I don't clock up more km than that, I worry that I'm not using it nearly enough... biggrin

Just bought this as a daily driver and a companion for the F355. 2 Italian cars, am I insane? Only time will tell! However it is very comfortable, the interior possibly better than the 355 and the seats are fantastic and possibly the best I've sat in.
Great minds...

The Three Stallions and an Audi biggrin. The Audi is not mine.

With a heavy heart I have to announce my GTV is sold.

Apart from one drive to Cambridge to see a mate and collecting the car I have only used her for commuting to and from work. Every time I got to work I would get out, look at her and think...

"What a waste of a car"

...so she's off to someone from the Owners Club who will hopefully get more out of her.

I'll be cycling to work for a while until I decide what to get next. Something for the UK Powertour no doubt. wink

It is a 1984 GTV6 3.0. Slightly tatty so thought we'd make her presentable again.

This is what I am aiming for smile

Wikpedia says: The South African market also introduced the 3.0 L GTV-6, predating the international debut of the factory's 3.0 L engine in 1987. 212 were built in South Africa for racing homologation. The last 6 GTV-6 3.0's were fuel injected. To this day, the GTV-6 remains the quintessential Alfa Romeo for South Africans.
...
I thought this GTV Alfa only came with a 2.5 Busso.

There is also a factory (or at least German importer) sanctioned tuned version by "Gleich" with a 2.8
Also there are some 2.6 V8 homologation versions, and of course the 1.6-1.8-2.0 Nord 4 ones, including one with Turbo by Autodelta.

During the early 80's the GTV6 2.5 were racing against BMW 535, Mazda RX7 and Ford Sierra XR8 among others in the local series. The GTV6 needed more power to keep up with the competition.

The Marketing Director of AR SA was visiting the factory in Italy when he spotted 3.0 engines which had been developed by Autodelta for a European series - after the engines were developed the regs for the European series had changed which meant the 3.0 engines were no longer eligible.

Engines were shipped to SA and AR built 212 GTV6 3.0 to have the cars homologated (min 200 required) - I believe all but the last 6 or 8 are have 3 twin choke Dellorto carbs.

The 3.0 engines are not the same as the later 3.0 as found in the 75 (Bore and stroke different, heads differ). The engines found in the South African 3.0 are numbered with a serial number punched on the crank pulley.

Amazing that they used to run with carbs, as the 2.5 had injection. It was early days I guess.
