Just needs a MOT and then will be the new retro daily driver

Needs a good cleanup but solid and all there, nothing quite like the Busso V6 IMHO.

Where have you found that one?! - Chris155

I'm sharing this for sympathy, not comedy, purposes ...

Chris...I am always on the lookout for good Alfas......know of a decent widebody 155 1.8 16V with low mileage coming up for sale very soon.

Remember, the 75 3.0 I sold you, this is what replaced it with only 69,000km on the clock

That is the best looking 75 I have seen. Is that an original GTV6 3.0 in the background? Any chance of getting more pics of that?

Sadly it will be leaving me this month, probably at some auction or other. It's a fabulous thing but it needs to be used and I never seem to make enough time for it. It will make me very sad as I'd promised myself I'd never sell it.

I'm sorry to hear that, I sold my 1980 GTV in about 1997 and have regretted it ever since. P.S. you have mail hehe

Consider yourself nudged! Karl at L&M international is arranging its disposal as I'm backwards and forwards to Germany all the time at the moment. He knows the car inside out anyway and is much better qualified than me to talk about it.

Yes that's the genuine article. Here are a few shots:

I so miss seeing those on the road. I don't know how but the number I used to see driving around in the '80s seemed like they made way more than 200ish of them. Perhaps I just kept seeing the same couple of cars all over the place, or they sold all 200 in Jo'burg or something

It's odd as 'good solid' cars are rare. Local garage always have a handfull Alfetta GTVs in stock. Most are 2 litres. Great cars and a better drive than the 105s.

A gold coloured GTV 2000 was my first Alfa experience. I was 13 and in heaven. What a car. And still.

Morning all, picked up my new car last week. Managed to spend a good few hours cleaning it on Saturday so thought I'd get some pictures and pop them up.

I wanted a car that had more room than my previous car, a Mini, but didn't lack in the looks department. The Mito delivers in both areas I think, it is a marmite car though from the reactions I've had.
The Mito and 'G' both look fantastic from the rear and side profiles, it's just the front that seems to split opinion. I hated the fronts to start with but over time as all Alfa's seem to do, the front ends have grown on me, especially when lowered.

I didn't care much for the GT at launch either to be honest... Alfa's can be like all good albums, as they take ages for you to 'get' them, then they seem to stay fresh for forever.
The profile and rear look fine, I just don't think trying to graft the front of an 8C onto the front of a supermini works. It's too tall and ungainly.

I'll admit that there are areas on the car that I'm not keen on now that I've had it for a month.

The rear mud flaps look comical.
The inside door handles are in completely the wrong place and are no use what-so-ever. Too far forward.
The USB is right under where your hand comes down when you use the handbrake so if you have a dongle in there you catch it.
The petrol cap. I looked a right idiot at the petrol station standing there trying to open the bleeding thing, then locking it again after.

I'm going to be controversial and say I like the front end, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise!

It's come up with its first fault too, only small, but both rear wheel bearings need replacing. My mechanic's first response was "welcome to Alfa ownership"

On the whole I'm glad I bought it, it's a fun little car and its nippy too.

Lots of classic Alfa at the Spa 6 Hours weekend. A racing Montreal being one of the highlights. I will post.

The sheer genious of fitting a 33 racing V8 in an upgraded 105 frame ... and convert it into a racing car.
