That is a very tidy looking 147, 2.0, leather and nice wheels as well, how many miles has it done?

Love my 147 as well, considering it is a 14 year old car, it is suprisingly comfortable and handles really well, cornering is confident.
Its not that tidy by any stretch, I have just picked a picture that hides the worst of it! the nsf wing is battered as is the os passenger door, and the nearside sill is also goosed, don't let the shineyness fool you! also the wheels badly need a refurb

Its done 140k and cost me £400, I have spent £39 on regassing the ac, balanced the front wheels and had the tracking done and fixed a few niggles and its now sorted, everything works, no fault codes or warning lights although the mileometer is flashing but I'm not paying £40 for a license key for multiecui to do a proxi reset.

Haha, good job hiding the dents with the pics then! Either way, 400 quid for a car like that, excellent job i'd say!

Breras are growing on me. The 147... I had a go in a 147 1.6 and did not like it at all. Maybe it was that car I dunno. Bought a new Punto instead. Amazingly that handles better. It needs 4 same tires though.

A 156 - even the really early ones which are now old - is still a brisk machine. But also here: the 1.6 isn't OK to me. A 1.8 or 2.0 TS suits it way better. Loving this topic.

Had my GTV Cup for a couple of months or so now, had to wait a while after getting rid of the 156 JTS, but it was worth it.
Here it is with some alfa friends on a trip to Autolusso South. Mine is the one in the middle.

I suspect something was rather wrong with that particular 147, ive driven some (grande) puntos and two mitos (which use the punto platform), and they dont handle handle as well as a 147, in my personal opinion. the mito/punto always felt narrow and high, and the rear would want to step out when hitting even a small bump in a long high speed corner (such as motorway junction overpasses)

Im not sure if my current 147 will make it there, but i do want to own a properly sorted 147 at some point, but given the age of mine, im not sure if investing the money to put it entirely right is a good idea, might just keep it serviceable for 2 years and then get a much younger one with a faster engine

Quick wash and polish and I think it will be ready for some AR Concours events?

I imagine that with a decent clean that will be a smart looking car, always a happy sight to see one of those relatively unruined, its still on original rims etc..

Considering its a red one youll need to polish it every week if you want it looking really clean, but it doesnt need to look showroom fresh

Gave my car over to a bunch of Eastern European gentlemen to give it a wash and vacuum. Turned out rather smashing..

So I tipped them 50%

Lovely car rik! where you pick it up? i looked at a rather similar one in vinkeveen a few months back, sadly it was a bit pricey for me at the time.

I can only imagine how comfortable that must be at munching up the miles with that nice big 5 cilinder.

Thank you for your kind words, unfortunately it really is worse than the pictures tell but is most definitely worth saving. I will be leaving it totally original probably even keeping the Phase one steering wheel that most junk for a Ph.2. It hasn't been on the road properly for over 5 years and has certainly been neglected, that said though it was complete and not too rusty.

I'm slowly stripping it down and apart from one hole in the rear quarter bodywork I haven't found any horror stories yet, probably be a couple of years work fitting it in purely as a hobby and without annoying Mrs Wal. I've wanted one for a while now and agree they do seem to be getting thin on the ground, this one cost me (delivered) about the same as one tyre for my 159 Ti.....

The car drives but I'm being very cautious as I suspect the belts are at least twice the age they should be, next job once I've cleaned up and powerflexed the rear suspension. Going to be an expensive and time consuming car I think but ultimately should be fun.
