I love Alfa's and I really hope the future of the company is better than the last couple of years. Why they stopped production on lovely cars like the 159 without a replacement is a mystery to me!

I've owned two 156's. The first I bought off my uncle who's owned it from new but it was only a 1.6. However I was only around 22 at the time so larger engined cars were still too expensive to insure. I then replaced that with a black 156 with cream leather, the Bose stereo and most importantly the 2.0 engine. I sold that car when I moved to London as I just wasn't using it, but I really wish I had kept it now. It had incredibly low miles and was such a lovely car. I got into a bit of a financial hole living in London but I'm almost out of it now and later this year I'm planning to buy my first Alfa V6. I was thinking about a 156 GTA but it seems daft to have another 156, so maybe a 3.2 GT or a 159 3.2 JTS. Ideally I'd like to test drive both as I know the Busso engine generally seems to be held in higher regard, but I'm sure I'll find plenty more advice here smile

I believe the reason was that the production costs were too high. Wether that had anything to do with the car itself or it's low production volume (In the last year or so of production they only had 2 shifts a week) I'm not sure....

They should've replaced the GM based engines back in 2009/2010 with the Multi-air ones and a 1.6 jtd variant.

I've heard a new model to sit above the Mito and Giulietta is on the cards, although Sniff Petrol is a bit, er, sniffy about that theory...

Here's a fairly recent one of mine, after a quick clean and ready for Goodwood this weekend. God I miss the sun!

Are you, SIR, taking the piss :-)

Looks like a well executed opinion, with great depth and knowledge....

I think iffypetrol is a little dissapointing...

It has a Novitec front spoiler and standard side skirts, though I did think about getting the GTA look but would rather just get the real deal.

That's a very nice engine bay you have.

If I could figure out how to post pictures without them being sideways/upside down I'd post mine up.
