Not sure why my photo's are upside down!!!!
Taken in Australia? biggrin

It's very strange: thumbsnap appears to have rotated them when they are embedded. If you "view image" they are the right way up.

Fulvia: drool; but I don't agree with the notion that post Fiat takeover Lancias are not real Lancias (if that is what you were hinting at). Lancias remained Lancias up to and including the first Delta (actually it was the second Delta, but I mean the first postwar one), and became dull Euroboxes, like everything else, thereafter.

The car was a thing that died in about 1990, as far as I am concerned. There haven't been any cars since then. Well, maybe just two or three, and all of those Italian.

it was a bit of a throw away remark.... I had a Montecarlo for 25 years, and numerous Beta's, a few Delta's and a Thema. If it had a Lancia badge on it, it was a Lancia to me... However, I felt that the pre Fiat cars, that were designed by Lancia, were quite special in engineering terms. Not always well engineered... but the engineering always had an elegance about it. Just take apart one of the V4's engine or gearboxes...

A Fulvia is one of "the cars that got away" for me. I have wanted one for ages, was offered a good one in 2010 for sensible money, and said no. Now prices have gone mental and I am stuffed.

Not quite the same thing, money wise, but in 2003 I was offered am Aston DB5 Superleggera for 35K. It was almost completely minty. Borrani wires, proper gearbox, good history, you name it. Red, but you can't have everything. I would have had to borrow 10K to buy it, was a bit stretched at the time, and said no. Oh, bugger.

Just to join the Fulvia love in, here is mine. Bought as a poor student in 1989, restored over 13 years and has picked up a few bits of silverware since.

Fabbety fab, except, IMO, for the numberplate, which ought by M to be white (unless the car was built before 1 January 1973 but registered late).

Thanks Breadvan, I've got a set of both styles but prefer the black and silver as it's very much a '60's shape'. I was told the specific Fulvia build records were destroyed in flood in Turin (which I can well believe), but from the chassis number it's probably a mid 72 built car. The DVLA agreed, as I just got in with Historic tax before it was frozen.

In that case, please carry on! I once had a Lotus Europa that was registered in April 1973 but built in October 1972, so it was allowed black plates. You are right that the Fulvia looks more 60s than 70s (and 100% lovely). That paint colour looks great on the car.

Weekending at the country pad of a friend and colleague, so here is an HPE doing its best to be in an early 1980s car advert/brochure. Shooting Brake, innit.

Only one photo in focus, however, so I will sack the photographer.
