Evening,

It's a 54 plate monaro cv8 can you disable the front passenger airbag ?

Would the rear have isofix ?

Many thanks,

I have not seen an airbag disabling switch on the Monaro anywhere, it is also very unlikely that VX dealers will offer dealer disconnection but it is worth a try.

I have a VXR which has both ISOFIX and top-tether anchorages. Feel around at the bottom of the rear seat and you will soon find the ISOFIX. The top-tether is hiding behind the rear headrests.

thanks for the info

hopefully putting deposit on a cv8 tomorrow and my current rear facing baby seat and base wont fit in the back as the belts are too short and if unable to turn off the front airbags i may have to get an isofix base and just struggle until he gets a bit bigger and can move into the front.

so much for me getting rid of hot hatchback for a bigger car, its even less practical.

thanks

i would check you have the iso fix point first befre you buy one. as you might have an 04 model CV8 easy way to tell is do you have a small boot or not

its a big boot model, does that mean no isofix?

how do people fit in children? perhaps thats what the extra boot space is for wink

just had this as baby jack was born sunday and has a baby book saying "the first car i ever went in was" so had to be the monaro lol, mine is a 04 vxr and could not find isofix and as you said the seat belt was not long enough to go around the seat, bought a britax base that fixes with the seat belt and stays in the car and the seat then just clips in and out as needed

think i have found a solution, we currently have two mamas and papas bases and infant seats and we leave the bases in situ. britax do a system which combines the isofix leg and a double seatbelt through the base so that should fit no problem in the back.

will have to add that onto my list of things to buy this week, a new base unit and car seat ffs.

thanks for the info

if the sale goes well i'll be asking lots of questions i come from a history of high revving hot hatches and trackdays a monaro is my idea of a second family car and my first jaunt into this new field.

my current shift light is 8200 rpm (not std) so need to get used to a different driving style.

there easy machines to get used to. you should not have to many issues changing your driving style. just remember there a lazy engine unless poked with a stick
