hi, i have a slightly unusual question about child seat fitment ?

the rear seat belts are not aslong as the fronts and therefore dont fit round some child car seats. does anyone know of a mod or extension belt you can get to get an extra few inches so it fitsround. or can you fit another lomger seat reel belt in lieu

regards JB

you can by a sealbelt extender for ebay for less than £20.

of if you have a 05 model ro you can use the ISO fix point in the back..

In the R8 I'm using a non-Isofix Maxi Cosi Seat Base

I had this problem too, the belts being just short, by about 2-3". I managed to source another female buckle that takes up that space, and is now a snug fit, for the odd occasion when I do take the bairn out in the beastie.

Ditto, belts wouldn't loop round my mamas and papas 0-6 month seat. I bought the maxi cosi easybase 2 I think called it has a leg which secures it and the belts just go through the base the seat then just clips on the base you don't touch the belt once fitted.

The OP didnt mention what type of child seat they have but whatever you do, DONT be tempted to fit a rearward facing child seat on the front passenger seat, not even for short journies!

The OP posted this on behalf of me as I had just gone to look at the 2 monaro's he has for sale. The car seat is a Britax forward facing seat. I was more concerned it would not fit between the bolsters but found the seat belts to short.

Our's is a Britax, and all I needed was one of these to take up the couple of inches shortfall.

Thanks for the info I do prefer this option to the earlier one as a temporary solution. I have found a company that will put new belts on both the rear retractors and make them longer for £75 so would probably do that as a permanent fix.
Do the R8 belts have the same problem?
