Hey people smile

We have a problem at the moment with someone has parked across our my grandparents neighbours drive, now as their next door neighbour is also rather old and fragile I have said I would try and sort it out and get the car moved.

So I have knocked at every single door down the road and no once has said it's their car (even though it must be someone's), so I 1st checked ASKMID to see if the car has insurance and it's not on their database, looked at the car closer and it don't even have valid road tax. So I phoned up the local BiB and they basically said they are not going to do anything about it as it's not causing a sever problem for other road users mad

So is they actually anything else we can do? As the neighbour is waiting on a ambulance to pick them up and as the car is there then there is no room for it to stop mad

Ah and some photo's.

Or.

Break window, release handbrake (take out of gear if needed), push car to area where not causing obstruction.

Drag it into the street and see how urgent it becomes to the police.

Heh, would be tempting to move the car into traffic so the police do something but cba then I'd be in the st as well!

That is the only way to get the 'authorities' to do anything about it.

You will need to smash the window and push the car out into the street. Welcome to modern Britain.

(wear gloves, just in case)

What on earth are you going to hit the bumper with that will setoff the airbag without also smashing the car up?

Airbags don't work like that.

They work by a ball bearing in a tube that rolls backwards and forwards. If the bearing shoots forward hard enough (i.e. in the event of a crash) then it breaks the glass and the airbag fires. You could smack the hell out of the bumper all day long, but it would do nothing to the air bag.

You could, however, just smack the hell out of the bumper all day long anyway.

AFAIK they'll only do something if it's preventing someone leaving, presumably because you could park elsewhere if you're returning.

The surprisingly light trash can that's just in front of the car (in Die Hard 4.0). It worked in the movies, what can possibly go wrong?
