So, who is off to this then? The thought of cruising around Londons main roads devoid of traffic seems good to me. And it's free! I'm going to go.

I'll be doing it, on my singlespeed. May ride the 15 miles or so to/from the start as well.

Basically they are closong a number of major London roads to traffic on 23 September so we can all cycle around those famous London thoroughfares. Check out the website - www.londonfreewheel.com

If the L2B rides are anything to go by, the rail networks will ban bikes on their trains that day.
Really helpful

Also wont it be too crowded to actually relax and take in the sights as the website suggests. Looking at the photos from New York ( i presume london has the same participation levels) it seems it will be quite hairy trying to cycle with that many poeple.

It maybe nicer to cycle through london at 4 in the morning if you want low traffic levels and a lessened risk of being knocked off your bike?

But hey i like riding in the country side all by myself with just my music to keep me company...

Where can I park my car if I go up?

Will normal road traffic laws apply, or is this an open invitation for some urban tricks, kerb jumping, wheelying and trials?

Can we organise a PH urban XC mountain bike race?

If you want to do that, try this - we're going to do it in Bristol...

Does any on know if they will be relaxing the bikes on trains rules for this event, or go the other way and ban them like they did for the London to Brighton?

Need to consider if I ride up to Clapham Common or jump on the train, or park the car someone where just outside town and cycle from there.

Ms D, I'll be riding up if you want to join me. Should be no harder than the Brighton route we took that you didn't finish.
