Converting from RHD to LHD
Discussion
Why change? The seating position is very close to centre anyway.
I'm sure it could be done but it would be a complete body off as the chassis will need modification:-
Where the pedals mount.
Where the steering column mounts.
The whole of the gear change mechanism unless it already has a centre shift.
The dash and associated wiring will need a complete rework and recover.
It would almost equate to a new build.
Not what you wanted to hear but sadly true.

Thanks for your help. Indeed bad news, but at least I know my options. I am still not 100% positive that I cannot register a RHD car in Portugal.
I've been thinking about this exact issue...
I live in the US (LHD) but at some point will probably go back to my home country, Australia, (RHD), and will want to take my cars with me.
Shifting driving sides will need the dash to be re-done, the steering wheel moved over, and the pedal box shifted. These are big jobs and will take money. The center body section should probably be removed from the car, and the windshield lifted (to get access to the speedo/tach cluster). The pedal box is probably the biggest job, since the mounting brackets and chassis elements for the master cylinders are clearly asymetric.
If I ever move back to Australia (RHD), I'll simply stick a "Left Hand Driver" sign on the back of the car.
