Super duper Door Mirrors

Having enjoyed the use of the original 'rabbits ears' for a short while I asked Adrian Venn - Exactly TVR - could he suggest anything. And he has fitted mirrors from a London Cab (FX4?) to my S2 and I'm delighted, so to share with all here are a couple of pics!!

Are these a straight swap for the rabbit ears or any fibreglassing to do ?

I cant see any fibreglassing but you would need to ask Adrian Venn as he fitted them

They look good to me. Could you advise me as to what Adrian charged for the pleasure. I have been thinking about doing it myself but I just dont have the time. Or possibly the skill.

Cant realy give labour prices as they were part of a much larger job but mirrors £120 each (inc vat) but Adrian had to remove original glass and adjust the internals to give correct range of movement and then replace glass. The mirror are actually electric but I decided not to have them connected as preferably I would keep the car as simple as possible (less to break!). Your best bet is to ring Adrian 02476 596883 or 07956956042. Not cheap but I am delighted with them

do like the new mirrors but ive just had my s3 repainted and was wondering what the glass altering was ? cheers andy

I rather liked the simple chrome mirrors as fixed to S2Giles' car.

I don't think the ones posted above suit the curvy and retro body of the car I'm afraid. A little bit too plastic and square for my liking.

The good thing about these are that they were listed as optional fitting for the car. There is a little work to do the door (alloy frame and glass removal but no fibreglass), the mirror that needs reshaping to give it the shape to suit the door, both mirror glasses need to be remade (in Normans case one standard and one convex) as the originals need to be destroyed to strip the unit down to enable the motor units (they can be fully fitted as electric units but are but need not be) to allow the range to be correct to the TVR, that is, if you have a driver that is pushing the seat right back and also if they are to be painted the same as the car.
