I started a topic in the Jobs forum and realised it was probably better suited to the Business forum so have deleted the content but can't delete the actual message.

Can I add that I think it would be a good idea to merge these 2 forums. Both have some overlaps and are quite quiet, merging may get more responses for topics. Just a thought.

They aren't listening.

I've suggested that the Business, the Finance and the Jobs abd Employment forum be mnerged as topics relevant to all three areas are liable to appear anywhere.

We are listening, but I've been on holiday and the rest of the team have been out of the office a lot so it is still waiting to be done. Rest assured it has not been forgotten and will get looked at in the near future.

While we are on about topics being deleted, when will that power be brought over to the user, rather than the mod?

If you delete the first post before anyone replies then the entire topic will disappear, but once someone else has posted the topic will remain.

This is done intentionally to discourage people from playing silly buggers, but the mods will never ignore a reasonable request by the OP to close or remove a topic.
