Give Darren Saunders at Hagerty Classic and Collector Car Insurance a call.

He has owned loads of TVR's in his day and understands our breed.

He under cut my (old) insurance company by half.

Tel : 08700 420 220
Fax : 08700 420 221
Email: enquiries@hagerty.com
Web: www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk

And tell him Rob Williams from PH told you to call.

I would highly recommend Hagerty, people with their own high performance cars Darren and Phil both very helpful. Ive got my M5 and Chim 500 both insured on limited mileages with them. I am 41 (old git) but the combined premium is less than £400.00. The other thing is Trackday Insurance. They charge 10% of your annual premium per trackday. You just phone up a week before the event pay with your card and off you go.

Can't speak highly enough about their service

Everyone recommends Hagerty but they wont insure me because my TVR is my only car. Despite having access to company cars and being named on a number of other policies they wont even quote for me. Idiots, this pisses me off (7 years no claims, clean liscence, IAM Advanced Driver) and my insurance is £1200 is my Chimaera.

That's a bit harsh.
As far as I am concerned they do a great job and have given many on here a very competitve renewal premium, with a policy backed by excellent security. It is also nice to be able to talk to people who have actually owned cars like ours. Well done Hagerty! clap

A-Plan were best for me closely followed by MSM. Haggerty were no good as they only allow a max mileage of 5k.
More importantly A-Plan were also fantstic when I had to put in a fault claim earlier this year!

Rumblebee, Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately our underwriters stipulate that we need you to be a primary policy holder on a main vehicle that you personally have 24/7 use of (not just work related trips in company owned vehicles) and we cannot change this. This stipulation of our insured having a main use car, is why we can offer the competitive prices to most TVR owners, but unfortunately we cannot please everybody.
Give A Plan, A Mannings etc a call because with 7 years clean driving and IAM, I cannot understand why you cannot get it cheaper than £1200.

I am looking to cover the Chimaera as a second car with limted mileage but with the odd commute to work during the summer (when the sun's shining!). Would you guys cover this?

Buzzsaw, what you are looking for is exactly (from what I understand) what Hagerty cater for. So I would try them. Hagerty kindly recommended Mannings for me and they were able to help me with my situation (TVR is my only car).
