That was a factory/press car - precat 4.3 BV - Gaffer's dad (Dave 'Poser' Cummins) had it as his company car for a while if I'm not mistaken.

Remember talking to him about it when I visited the factory in 2002.

I also had the pleasure of that Griff for a month, it was a brilliant experience, also got the magazine test on it with the Griff vs Cobra.

Yes indeed the late David Cummin with the designer shoe laces and shorts(poser)gave Pauline & I the keys to NFV so we could still have our day out up in the lakes while our Griff was in for service.
Just one great bloke we will never forget god bless.

I also had that Griff as a courtesy car from the factory when my Tamora was being serviced there two or three years ago. When I put it into my garage, I sat there with the engine running for ages with a huge grin on my face........biggrin

First Griff I ever drove. Gerry Marshall drove me around Silverstone in it before I bought his 4.3BV off him. We lapped everything out there and the interior stank of burning rubber. Tremendous.

It's very coincidental that the owner of the Gerry Marshall Griff lives about 2 miles away from us.

It depends which one though. There is ours which was a true Marshall Wingfield car, sourced by Peter Wheeler and maintained by Giles Cooper or there is the one that belonged to Don which was on Gerry's drive way to be tarted up and sold when he sadly passed away.

The latter was never on Gerry's books but was sold at his auction.

If you are not sure which one it is that is only a couple of miles away from you then the answer is: Which one can you hear at over 10 miles away? biggrin

Absolutely brilliant car with a huge amount of oomph over the standard 4.3s. And superb handling. Interior was a littel tired.

Having heard or seen it yet as only just moved/moving into the new place. It's a 4.3BV and looks like a dark grey and the new owner is on here (Tildo430BV) - had it since about Sept last year. I can't recall which one went at auction but do recall it and I know a bit more about some of what happened at the auction but I can't say on here.

As a child I was enthralled by Cobras racing at Brands and thought "I must get one of those". Sadly a genuine one is out of my price range so I have a Griff as the next best thing so I'd be intersted to read that article. Any chance you could get a copy to me?

Just looked up Tildo's profile and that's the one.

Andrew, if you are reading this I hope you are having as much fun as I did. Would buy it back if you weren't. biggrin

Mail me and I will try and dig it out this weekend and scan it then send it you.
Out of interest, it is the 1993 Performance Car mag, with Clarkson testing both Griff and Cobra.
