Shifting an Old Nail

Can't seem to shift my old car. It's a 95 BMW 328i Touring . 96kmiles FSH and all the gongs and whistles.
Have tried PH Classifieds and given it a month on Autotrader. Have had only one sniff but still no sale.

It's a decent colour and has only 2 previous owners including myself.

I thought £3.5k ono seemed a reasonable place to start.

Why is no one even interested enough to lift the phone and haggle?
Short of giving it away I'd welcome any suggestions

Not facts, just what people will see:
Heavy on petrol for it's size so expensive to run.
Fancy German brand with high milage= big repair bills.
Big engine in Fancy German car= expensive insurance.
Touring= no good for posing.
BMW= bad image (see reverse snobbery thread)

So you need a buyer who uses an estate car for their hobby/work, doesn't do high milage,is old enough to get cheap insurance/not care about the pose and is brass necked enough to go through life driving a Beemer. Find that person.

I was after a 328i touring. I couldn't find it on ph classifieds. There were two on there for about 6 or 7k



Please don't tell me it's a manual as well.

Why dont you try ebay sparky. I recently sold my E39 540 on ebay and got a pretty good price for it. No problems, cash, to a nice bloke.

I always find 'nice' cars sell pretty well on ebay.

An aquintance of mine sold his 92 320 tourer not long ago but with higher miles and average condition and considered himself lucky to get £600!

I have a '96 328 Coupe Auto.

It is an absolute minter and has only covered 40,000 miles from new.

I reckon mine is worth £4,000 on a good day.

Maybe you ought to be asking under £3,000?

Well, it finally moved 7 months later and at the third time of advertising.

Disappointingly, I drew only a whisker over £2k.

It's definitely a buyers market.
