Any proper resolutions, not mobile phone size? 1680x1050? 1920x1200?

Should have done what Nick said last time - and ask the guys in Photography to help. They do nicer pics. Also agree with the guy asking for higher resolutions.

Try harder next time please wink

Nice pic, but not a great pic.

You have a choice of three there, 1280x1024, 1280x960 (if you click on the story picture) and 1366x768

While they are reduced slightly from how they came out of the camera, they are spot on for most peoples desktops and are hardly mobile phone sized!

My mobile phone takes pictures at 2592 x 1944, so no, they're not mobile phone sized (they're not big enough for that!)... smile

Ah, but what is its screen size? (and what is your computers screen size?) hehe

crosses fingers and hopes you aren't running a huge monitor at super high resolution

What a great idea!

Whilst I am often loath to join the negative bunch out there - the only thing I would say is that I am not a fan of the 'frame fade' effect. Can you make sure that's not a regular feature? ;o) Cheers.

Keep going PH - getting better and better.

Well I could cheat and say 2560 x 1600 although this is a company screen smile I'll grant my laptop is only 1920 x 1200 wink

Personally I'd prefer them as they came out of the camera, and then I could resize them to suit. Even if you just click on 'use this as desktop' it looks better if it's reduced to fit rather than expanded to fit.

Any chance we could have the photos without the logo in the future? Its gonna take me a while to photoshop it out for use on my desktop.

I'm afraid that out of the camera is not an option, the filesizes are simply too big (even on a 'normal' camera like this, let alone any of the pro stuff). I felt that the sizes chosen struck a good balance between quality and bandwidth/download time

We can however produce an even larger version in future since there seems to be a demand for it.

How big would you all like?

It might pop up from time to time, as might other effects, but it is not going to be used every week.

1920x1320 like the Aston picture would be a good start. Don't really care about the logo. Produce decent photos of that size though and I'll update my desktop pic every week biggrin

I'm afraid that the smiley watermark is staying, we need some branding on there somewhere, but we will try and keep it subtle

I think a great deal of monitors/laptops now use 1600x1200, so i'd say that would be a useful one to have.

Then a similar sized one for the Widescreeners out there.

As for the watermark - the PH Smilie is, for me anyway, the least 'professional' looking aspect of the PH branding.

On these pictures (great idea btw), i think even a simple opaque www.pistonheads.com would be better than the smilie.

Plus its an actual link people can see and then go to themselves....

Just my 2p's worth! biggrin

Most excellent feature. At last.

The Z06 is a true beast and a steal for the price asked.

Sugestion: PH Member Of The Week

There are loads of guys with awesome rides, 'd make a great desktop.
