Is Chunky still online? I'm sure he could help. We went to a race track in Florida to watch him once. My memory fails me but it was not Gainsville!

Orlando hold a meeting every Wednesday evening but the facility is a fair way out of the town, not as far as Gainesville but still a fair distance...I think they held races on a Wednsday night

Hi There,
I'm Chunky's dad and Florida is 5 hours behind us in time, he was going to Speedworld tonight and will probably put more racing on tomorrow.
His website with contact details is www.tony-morris-racing.com
Oh and Speedworld is on SR50 20 miles out of Orlando.
Speedworld also has it's own webpage.

Orlando Speedworld has two test and tune night's each week, which runs on Wednesday and Friday evening. They start running at 6:00pm and close the lanes at 10:00pm and are run all year long. You are going to see many street cars and lots of rice rockets, and few real race cars as the track is most of the time just not that good.
For the last five or six years we have had a bracket race program from April thought September, this may change next year as it gets way to hot come July and the car count falls off. Now the season may start earlier, right now we have been running twice a month on the second and thrid Saturday of the month, if this should change I will try and let you know. The gates open at 3:00pm with time runs at 4:00pm till 7:30pm, then round one around 8:00pm. Racing ends at somewhere around 12:00-1:00am after 8 round of racing.
The track is 12 miles east of Orlando on State road 50, very easy to find.
Bradenton motorsports park is two hour from Orlando and is the best track in Florida for us racers, as it is very fast and smouth. I would check there website before coming over as they are always running something different there. The track is on the west coast around one hour south of Tampa on State road 64, 10 mile from I75.
Gainesville is also two hours from the center of Orlando, this is a hugh track and also runs a monthly bracket race, I would check there website for dates come Feburay.
Then there is West Palm Beach also know as Moroso, if your thinking of traveling down south to Moroso which is about two and half hour drive check there website first as nobody know what going on down there right now.

You could book into Frank Hawley's drag racing school. Don't they still operate out of Gainesville?
Okay, here's the link.

I presume you are asking whether i went to the fastest street car event, i'm afraid i didn't have a car for the first week, although, i enjoyed the Bradenton event. The gassers, were only running the 1/8 mile, due to breakdowns the previous day, i have been to OSW before though, i was actually stopping in Poinciana.
