Where a little modding gets you
Discussion
As many people will know the vauxhall astra 1.8 had two different engines
pre 98 (Sport) came with the 115bhp version doing 0-60 in 9.5 seconds
Post 98 (SRI) came with a 125bhp version with the main difference being an electronic throttle doing 0-60 in 8.5 seconds
Just to showing everyone what a few simple mods can do to members a bit peeved they dont have the 125bhp version
0-60 in 8 seconds

Thanks for being such a friendly bunch. Im not posting a video claiming that i have a fast car. I just noticed a difference in the engines and wanted to show what some minor modifications did in terms to 0-60. 1 Second off a 0-60mph is quite a result in my book.
Theres really no need for comments of how S*** the car is, im young and its all i can afford, after paying for tax and insurance.
And if you notice the camera is coming from the right side on an angle, looking straight on the car hits 60mph but obviously from looking from the side you cant see that.

For stuff like this you need to get on:

You'll have a much more receptive audience.

Don't see the problem with you lot, people spend fortunes chasing 10BHP in performance cars, people spend hundreds re-mapping mundane diesel motors! If there is a 10BHP potential power increase to be gained with some cheap, possably used OEM parts, then fair play- it makes a lot of sense ![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)
DISCLAIMER: I am at work and cannot view the video. Would any of you 'haterz' care to share what's so bad about it?

To the comment on the revs and changing into third: Have you ever owned such a car and do you know for sure that you need to change into 3rd to hit sixty?
I drive a 1.8 and I can confirm it will do 60mph in second, although it is screaming by then. (Also not sure on how accurate the speedo is)
That brings me on to a few questions: Were you measuring the speed from the speedo, and what did you do exactly to make it faster?
