Drive Outs To The PH Show

PistonHeads teams up with StreetSafari offering you two great ways to get to the PH Show.

Are you sure this is the way to the NEC?
Are you sure this is the way to the NEC?
If you fancy coming along to the PistonHeads show but aren't sure which day to come along, this might just help you make up your mind.

The team at StreetSafari has arranged two hoons taking place on Saturday 12th January, one from the North and one from the South to get you to the NEC in time for a few beers and a curry on the Saturday night before heading to the show on the Sunday morning. Hotels will need to be booked separately.

The Northern Run

This starts at East Pavilion, Leeds United Football Ground, Elland Road, Leeds. Car park opens at 10am for a midday start. The route takes in the best roads the Pennines has to offer including the fabulous Snake Pass- this is the route for the enthusiastic drivers amongst you. You will arrive at Birmingham NEC for around 5pm. Entry is free of charge.

The Southern Run

This one starts at Dunsfold Park, Surrey, more commonly known as the Top Gear track! There is a £10 entry fee to Dunsfold which will be split between the Surrey Community Trust and the Richard Burns Foundation.

Dunsfold Park will be available from 10am with a midday start for the run. The run to the NEC will be started with a convoy lap around the Top Gear track. After this you will wind your way up through Surrey, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. The roads are a mixture of fast A roads to small B roads and everything in between, finishing at Birmingham NEC for around 5pm

Where did that TVR go?

StreetSafari will be handing out booklets before each run detailing the route, along with a map, so that you can move at your own pace and not worry about getting lost.

To help us print the correct numbers of route books, please complete your name and car details on the thread below- remembering to state if you are attending the North or South Run.

if you have any questions please e mail circuit@streetsafari.com

We look forward to seeing you there, and also on the PH stand at the show.

I like how the northern run actually starts from the north NOT! What the happened to Scotland? Are we on a seperate ing island!
Perhaps when you say North start thinking a little further than yorkshire! Im sure the geordy folk would agree!

Sorry for the mini rant, I just got excited that us scots might have been included in something, only to be disapointed....again.

Might we be able to drive around the TG track prior to the official setting-off? Or will that not be allowed?

the spec was for 160 miles to NEC ideally without taking in motorways. 160 miles roughly equates to 4-5 hours driving. i would love to arrange something north of the border later in the year though.
