The return of: Son of PH Pint in Enfield Anyone?
Discussion
Provisional date: Wednesday the 16th of July 2008. Time 19.00 or when you arrive.
The last meet at the K+T was excellent, but food was there none! Time for a car enthusiastic pub.
Location either the Plough, Crews Hill, which is just up the road from the King and Tinker or the Robin Hood on the Ridgeway near Chase Farm Hospital. Both pubs have large car parks.
I will conduct the, err “field research” shortly and report back. I know it is a tough job, but someone needs to shoulder that heavy burden of responsibility.

I'll be there. Although, like last night, not until around about 8.15pm.
I don't mind which pub we all decide on. However, if you don't bring the C-Type on the 16th Freddie, you will have to sit alone, at the far end of the car park while the rest of us glare at you.

Is the plough the one virtually on the sharp bend, about 1/4 mile down the hill from Crews Hill station? Actually, what am I saying, there only is one pub in Crews Hill! (I looked at moving there recently and was quite alarmed by the lack of drinking establishments
)
Well, I haven't been into The Plough, but assuming it's the one I'm thinking of it's huge and has a decent car park. The Robin Hood (in Botany Bay, between Enfield and the Potters Bar junction of the M25, for those coming from further afield...) is pretty similar really.
Both are McMullens and they both feel fairly corporate, but there is decent food available (I've eaten at the Robin Hood when they had a TIPEC meet there...) The Robin Hood is perhaps a little more quaint, but The Plough maybe has a slightly bigger car park (I can't see either being an issue for space).
Freddie - it's over to you with the research.

Phil has suggested that it might be a good idea to have the meet on a weekend during the day. This would open up a post-meet hoon capability too.
As the weekend of the 12/13 is the Classic Lemans, the best date would either be Saturday the 5th or Sunday the 6th.
What do you think chaps?

Having a weekend meet is Ok by me but , on a personal note I'm on holiday from the 5th July until the 12th.
Please remember that if you go ahead on a Saturday or Sunday, Crews Hill and the surrounding areas get chocca with old biddys in their mark 1 Micras chugging about on their way home from the various garden centres in the area with half a rainforest sticking out of the sunroof.

A weekday evening is best as its easier to disappear for a few hours whilst the OH watches America's Got Britains Best Talents of Corronationoaks or such like.
Weekends are spent under the bonnet or waving heavy machinery around in the name of Gardening. 3 hours out of a weekend is inpractical, just takes a chunk out of the day. Much like 12pm football kick-offs.
Or just tell me to go away as my engine is not in a V-shape and I dropped out the last meet

Had I had know that 'America's got Britains' Best Talents Of Coronationoaks' was on last Wednesday I may have skipped the meet too! My favourite show that is.
You have a strong point re the Weekend meet CTD. On the other hand, Transmitter Man has a De Tomaso Longchamps GTS which counts for an awful lot too IMO!

Summer evenings, long warm summer evenings, spent in the company of fellow petrol heads are always good. And particularly so when a decent country pub comes as part of the equation.

I will be there....once the date is confirmed. Is it the 16th or will it be at the weekend?
On the 16th. Expert local knowledge confirms an excess of garden centre numpties at the weekend.
