Its all too easy !!!!
Diff literally fell out and pinned me to the garage floor. No damage done to anything though.
A couple of tips for anyone else thinking of doing this:
1.Propshaft bolts are 9/16 head and incredibly tight. You'll need a 3/8" drive ratchet to get on to the bolts.1/2" is too big
2.Remove the brackets from the diff first. Then take the brackets off the chassis
3.The front diff brackets are fitted to the front of the diff with 4 x allen headed bolts. The diff holes are threaded and the nuts are used as lock nuts. Remove the nuts before trying to get the bolts out.
4.Diff weighs about 80 lbs and can be picked up by one person.
5.I took all the suspension, brakes, fuel stuff off first which made access easier. Whole lot took about 5 hours
If you want any other help, let me know
Thanks for the advice - Andy

Just had my speedo returned from Speedycables and need to know the number of 'teeth' on the propshaft speedo-sensor trigger ring for the GKN diff to recalibrate it.
I've seen a number mentioned on here before but just to be sure and as I don't fancy getting under the car to try and count mine I was wondering if somebody with their diff out (or knows) wouldn't mind doing the honours for me and letting me know?
Thanks in advance
