Has to be my 7.

Everytime a see another 7 on the road my heart skips a beat and I give a wave (tragic I know) thinking I've got one of those at home. Only I haven't now. cry

Nothing since has come close to seducing me as this car did. God I loved it.

Interestingly I've decided to blow any money I have going racing whilst the world is in the grips of the worst recession ever known, so I can't really stretch to another 7 just yet. But I will have another at some stage. The thought of never having another is just too depressing.

L 1994 red uk MX5... it was mint I paid 3k for it and sold it 4 months later for 4.2k... I had to for what someone offered me for it, but it was low mileage, bought it with 4 new pirelli's and had just been serviced by main dealer with FSH. never skipped a beat. Bought it off a guy who just got a new 3 series bmw company car and didnt have the room in his drive for two cars...

One I still regret selling my 111S to this day. Had to get rid of it to finance my first flat. Will probably get another Lotus one day, probably an Exige to complement my sportsbike.

1986 Mercedes 190E 2.3-16

Bought for £6,000 at 64K, smoked round in it until the winter, then spent nearly £10,000 renewing the suspension, diff, bushes, brakes, you name it... mechanically perfect.

Did another 500 miles in it before selling it for £4,500 to help with the deposit on the house.

£11,500 down the pan in 12 months, purely for the benefit of some bloke from Enfield called Bob.

Biggest mistake, selling that, and something I regret doing - especially when 3 days after selling it, I sold a deal which covered the £4,000 I needed for the house.

Not amused.

This, bought as a "I need a car quick and cheap that looks good" sorta thing
bought form a local dealer for £1100 I think it was, got the cambelt done and some new brakes on it, and she ran like a dream for a fair few months, drove me to brugge and back wit 3 mates, no issues.
V6 motor, then she started to get an alarming knock on the suspension I couldnt trace it at all, till one day, my mate grabbed the wheel and pulled it forwards towards bumper, *clonk*, found it, we were doing mot precheck

So replaced the arm with a new one, flew through its mot, and was sold 2 days later, £1125, and in those 2 days, i was tempted to call off the sale, i had fallen back in love with the car, interior was immaculate, exterior, near enough immaculate, some flakey laqeur, and a scrape on the bumper...New mot, new tyres

Even to this day I still kick myself for selling it, thought the clutch was going to go, and didnt have like 600quid to do it.
Last pic taken of her, last time i cleaned her crap pic, but you can see how good she looked, never seen the same colour as shiney as that before on one of these

She came back up for sale again, a fair few months later, for about 700 quid, still looked as good, was tempted to buy it, but had another car by then, and no cash. Also the owner had got rid of the no plate that was on it, for an irish style one, to disquise the age, and it lost its character a bit

miss it still, sold at the right time though 121k on the clock, market dropped, now you practically have to give these away frown

DKP 191T, Mk 2 Ex David Sutton Gp 4 full works spec RS1800 [ actually it said Escort Popular on the log book!! ]
Fabtastic car, but only really for M Sport.
Apparently, its worth 100k now!!
The infamous Black Beauty which Ari had his last ever competitive Escort drive, IIRC?, when he totalled it on the '82 Manx when it was being run by MCD.

A definate 'triggers broom' car, but yes, probably 100k now with a suitable recreation by Sutton around it's number plate.

And here was me regretting the forced sale on my road going Escort Twin Cam 20 years ago... weeping

That's some attack angle turning into the drive, you appear to have slid off your seat completely and into the passenger foot well.

My Integrale. Heavily modified and upgraded every time something went wrong. Cost over £11k in maintenance in the last 12 months I had it. Got pissed off and stupidly sold it; missed it ever since. If it hadn't pissed me off so much I would have just found a garage and used it a bit less. As it was I couldn't resist driving it every single night.
