OK, here's details we have so far regarding times and places:

Bride's cars: The Old Forge, Main Road, Hallow, Worcester, WR2 6PW at 12:00-12:15 - it was going to be 12:15-12:30, but we may have to go a long way around to get to the wedding venue
Groom's cars: The Crown Inn, Main Road, Hallow, Worcester, WR2 6PW at 12:20-12:30. He's going to this pub with best man for a bit of Dutch courage for the wedding, and is unaware of what will be waiting for him. Again, I've taken the liberty of pulling Sarah's time forward by ten minutes.

Note: yes, they are supposed to be the same postcode, they're only a few yards apart, and yes, the bride IS going before the groom

Wedding venue: The Nash, Kempsey, Worcester, WR5 3PB.
Right now things are looking tricky; the wedding venue is pretty much cut off by the floods, the bridge across the Severn at Worcester is closed, etc etc.

But we'll be there, won't we??

Local guys, we're going to need some route guidance. We'll have a recce on the Friday, but by then we should know where we're going.

Worcester traffic news for Tuesday morning ---- is Good.

The water is going down and the bridge in the middle of Worcester is now open.
There are more roads open and visibly less water. Only this morning I have seen a canal cruiser neatly parked in a field where yesterday it would have been floating.

I'll check on the A38 Kempsey and A443 to hallow and post an update later.

So, the waters are receding (fingers crossed), now we need a rendezvous, guys.

Do we meet at the Crown, or elsewhere then make our way to the Crown? If we have to meet somewhere, then go to Hallow, then go to the wedding, we might lose a few on the way? I'm conscious of time and the need for us not to be late either collecting people or delivering them.

Sarah - regarding the surprise for Richard... how do you want it springing on him - us arriving en masse at the Crown, or have us meet there?

Re the actual wedding, we will, of course, need to hang on at the Nash for piccies etc after the ceremony. So bring a comb, guys cool

I would have thought the occasional rumble at The Crown as cars arrive one by one would be quite effective.

As the groom apparently has some taste in cars he may even step outside to see what the noise is.

Wedgie, Certainly agree with your comments about potentially loosing people on the way across Worcester. Chaps in the office here say that The Crown is easy to find and it has a good car park.

Are we putting ribbons on all of the cars or just the Bride & Grooms cars? If it's all of us does someone have some ribbon or do we get our own....and what colour, white? Also, are we all tuxing up?

Agree that we all meet at The Crown...avoids confusion and delays yes

If we stick to tradition, it should only be the bride's and bridesmaids' cars. Bride's getting wed in ivory, so I think we should go for that.

Haven't quite worked out how to attach the middle of the ribbon in the centre of the bonnet as yet, I'll have to try one or two ideas and maybe post the results on here.

I'm aiming to get some ribbon tomorrow - should I get enough for 3 cars, then, to keep it all the same?

Sarah's left it to the individuals to decide what to wear, personally I'm tuxxing up - if we're doing this, we should do it right!

The Crown looks like the best option for a meet. I've told the best man (Simon) to keep Rich at the back left hand side of the pub away from the windows and car park, then at the alloted time he'll bring him outside to you guys - Woo Hoo - his face is going to be a picture bounce

Possibly have Rich's car with ribbons too? Let Worcester know what's going on clap

Sarah - What time is Rich getting to the Crown? Some of us might be there before him if we're not careful!

Ah good point! I've just spoken to the Crown, they don't open until 12noon, so Rich will be there for opening.

As previously mentioned...

Do we know about potential accomodation / hotels?

I'm coming from High Wycombe and currently not planning on staying over the Friday night.

Anyone else coming from or going through this direction and want to meet up?

Wazzal,

I'm travelling on the day, so not stopping over. No idea about anyone else.

If you want some info on places in Worcester I can try to help you, Fownes Hotel is right in the city centre, big place, not the cheapest but likely to have rooms.
Also has decent car parking.

The three Pears M5 Junction 6 is a travel lodge right on the motorway junction. Out of town so hardly good for a night out.

Hi guys
POTENTIAL problem! Groom's ride (dropacog - T350) has front end damage and struggling to get paint in time for a respray (hopefully he's getting it tomorrow - but you never know).
It was originally a T350 that i'd have liked for Rich and if anyone could help out if needs be, that would be fantastic. If not a T350 i'd just be grateful of anyone willing to help out.
This thread was originally all started because i wanted Rich to have a ride to our wedding in the car of his dreams, i'm sure we can sort something.

Fingers crossed for Dropacog. frown
