I'll need to have a think about this closer to the time but sounds like a bloody good idea, I'd fancy being a passenger again though as I don't think my car will be all sorted for spirited driving by then.
Ben, you got ride sorted? If not then you are welcome in the chugger!AngryS3Owner said:
I hope I'll be grabbing a lift with David as the allignment on my car isn't being sorted till Monday - thanks for the offer though!
You are most welcome mate. If you don't plan to be at the 5 o'clock club tomorrow, you'd better let me have your house number so i can pick you up.Looks like we will be leaving Crowthorne at about 7:40 ish

You going to be at the pub for a few hours David? Not sure I'll be able to get back from work for 5 but I would definately be up for a pint when I get home.
Probably until the ladies join us, at about 7:30, then it will be off to one of the fine local eating establishments. If you are running late give me a call.Hi All
Great to meet some new faces last night and some Cool Cars !
Regarding a Recon Run on this Saturday morning we are meeting at 7.45am for 8am leave at the The Ely (A30) Yateley. Please remember to charge and bring your "walkie Talkies" i do have a few spare, so Ill bring them along.
I made a quick rough calculation on the length of the route is around 200 miles and we stop in Devizes half way round. So we would be back before 1pm.
Any questins drop me a line

The "Not sure road or track" is a must, I use this most days on the way to work. Dead straight across the top of a high ridge, lovely views and a good little pub at the end called The Shears, good food. Over 110 Leptons are easily achievable on this stretch but going over the blind crest can make your crevice sweaty.
In fact the alternative route highlighted is pretty crappy and pothole mungous.

What a fantastic morning's
Many thanks to Turbofun and Verysideways. Excellent route, some great roads and first class organisation. I can't wait to do it again on the 19th August.
Great moments of the day:
MadMacMcMad taking a wrong turn at the very first junction after leaving the Ely
Me and Baronbashoneov losing the rest of the pack, and in our eagerness to find them lost each other.
The "friendly" manageress at the coffe shop in Devizes, who really didn't want to serve us, but we won her over with charm and wit (and a huge tip).
BMWDriverNigel announcing over the radio that he had a flat tyre, but as he was running on runflats it didn't really matter, and he made the next overtake as "enthusiastically" as before.
Sitting at the side of the road in a 9 year old TVR, waiting for a 2006 Porsche and a 2007 BMW to resolve their "technical difficulties" - how reliable these modern German cars are
Trying everthing i could do to shake off that paraffin powered BMW estate car, and failing!!
and finally...
Baldylocks saying "of course i'll be alright in an open-topped car, the sunshine won't last" : see pic (sorry John, probably not the most flattering photo in your album), but must be one of the funniest

Hope your head is not too sore mate.
Ah well, after a couple of beers for lunch, its time for a snooze before a little driving ths evening.
Thanks to all, great morning and great company.

Yes, cracking start to the day, some great roads and great cars to 'challenge' too
Who said a diesel wont keep up? Imagine it next week after a visit from Friar Tuck ( the chippy )
Dont think we managed to upset anyone apart from the biker who decided to try to overtake on his 125cc!!
Thanks chaps.
