I'd be surprised if it was with the toll road open. Could be wrong though.

I may take you up on that but I'll probably be working the night before and will need a kip before I set off for a long drive biggrin RAC route planner reckons its 5 hour drive to the first stop if the traffics bad so i should have time for a wee break before everyone gets to the stop off anyway biggrin

Well, its a late night (for some of us!), so make sure you get a nap in the afternoon, if you don't biggrin

Do what? It'll be less than 5 hours to the *venue* from Edinburgh, let alone that A1 point. And that's going down the East Coast down the A1. From Glasgow you'd be far better off down the M74 and M6. Can't be more than 3 1/2 hours.

I was wondering about that, it was only 7 hours to snetterton when I did the m74 m6 route to snetterton. How much time will meeting up for the convoys add on? If its not too much a convoy would be more interesting than trekking down on my lonesome.

It's about an hour from Glasgow to Abington on the M74 isn't it?

Heh. I was asking as it's about an hour from there to Edinburgh too. Usually it takes me 6 1/2 hours from Edinburgh to Reading.

So I'd guess at 5 to Towcester or so.

shout HELP!

Can anyone remember how long it takes from LFE to Whittlebury Hall please?

Vicki has booked a treatment at the Spa and the only time they could do was 2.00.

This only leaves me two options

1) I miss out on the convoy totally by having to go down half an hour before you guys

2) Vicki drives down by herself and we have two cars ... which seems a bit daft.

oh, I forgot a third...

3) She cancels it and I'm in the doghouse!

I assume LFE is Leicester Forest East services just south of Leicester.

AA says 55 mins and 45 miles.

Whittlebury hall is fairly easy to find. Off the M1 at junction 15A get on the A43 towards towcester (mind the speed camera going up the hill near Blisworth). Keep on the A43 until you find signs to Whittlebury, just after Towcester but before Silverstone.

Whittlebury hall is on your right just as you come out of the far side of Whittlebury

Thanks Marty - the finding it is not the problem. I just couldn't remember how long it took us to get from LFE to Whittlebury Hall last year.

55 mins? So 40 mins PH scratchchin Don't think this is going to be doable even if I start at Woodhall as planned and miss out LFE irked

Well you started the thread and suggested times. Why not sort it out an hour earlier and get an extra hours drinking in ?
