Looks like he clipped the wall by Scott Speeds car just before the big impact. That must have helped scrub off a bit of the speed he had...

The speed he was going they wouldn't even have seen him. Looking at the angle he would have most likely T-boned somebody - which 'may' have resulted in a Zanardi type accident. All in all, a lucky escape for everyone not just Kubica.

As with all sports if you've seen F1 up close and personal it looks and sounds so, so rubbish on TV but how come this sketchy footage captures more of the essence of speed than the pro broadcasted stuff?!

Did you also hear on the circuit broadcast how quickly they announced that Rosberg and Alonso were being investigated for going into the pits when the safety car had been deployed. Much, much sooner than the ITV commentators did.

I think this is because the stick the cameras in the spots where the camera doesn't have to move about quite so much - i.e cars always tend to come toward or away from the camera. Rarely do they have a shot where cars are coming from mid-left to mid-right etc - it's a nightmare to track with a camera.

On the contrary - every news agency is going to want (need) footage of the crash for their story. How many would be happy with "amateur footage" - many, I would imagine. The guy stands to make a mint and if there's one thing Bernie can't stand it's other people getting their trotters in his trough.

Sure its a news story but a story with a limited shelf life ,, so would Bernie have purchased this footage from Joe public to include it in his year in review DVD or can he claim it as his copyright as it was filmed on track
