After the last little Tesco escapade with diesel fuel, I have avoided using theirs. (fortunately I was not one of the motorists caught) When possible, I tend to use Shell (locally it is a bit cheaper - also my Rover 45 seems to run better on it, a viewpoint shared by my fellow-MG-Rover forum members) or Sainsbury's.

Filled Mrs car with Tesco UL 95 in Dover after leaving docks..... next day.... engine light on..limp mode.. ste fuel again .....coil pack knackered this time....last time it was the Lambda........ I won't even buy Tractor Juice from them for my 4wd tdi campervan..... that runs fine on Veg oil...but I won't buy diesel from Tesco..... it is Shell locally or Esso if I can get it...

I can understand how bad fuel might screw up a Lambda sensor, but not a coil pack.....RobCrezz said:

You should avoid all supermarket fuels anyway. They are in no way the same as what you get from Shell, BP and Esso.
Tesco Super 99 is pretty good, but I doubt that comes from the same place as the other stuff.Additives put in at point of sale make the difference basically. Two of the largest refineries in the UK are near me & I have friends who know these sorts of things :
