M3 insurance via LV, good grief...!
Discussion
Had occasion to change my insurance details (needed my stepfather added to my policy).
I was with SwiftCover and when I attempted to add him (70 years old, retired, no claims, no convictions) they wouldnt touch him.
So, went on to LV.com and got him added to the policy, a £250 lower excess and £325/year instead of £670!!
I'm 40, live near Bristol, with good no claims but 3 points from a SP50 just over 3 years ago.

Not an M3, but I have both our cars, including my Merc, with LV= at really good rates.
However their premiums seem so completely random I've stopped recommending them. Apparantly similar people/cars/areas get dramatically different quotes.
One thing: If the policyholder or family has any random connection to the Civil Service, BT etc, then they can join CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association) and the premium drops again through LV's arm Frizzell.
Did they insist on a Tracker with your car?

Although when I last tried that it was 10% MORE expensive.mmm-five said:

Oh. That's worth checking, thanks. It might just be the randomness of LV's pricing though. If you delete cookies and use a different email address you can do the same quote again and it'll sometimes come up with a different price.
Of all the companies I've used though, they're the only ones where the renewal quote seems to be cheaper than getting a quote as a new customer. The yearly battles with Adniral and Bell on the kid's cars got very wearing.
