Budget Bike Build

Hi,

I have just purchased a Cove Handjob frame in the hope of building it up on a (tight) budget for my other half, I'll probably go 2nd hand on a lot of bits;

I need everything apart from the frame obviously! - If anyone sees any bargains, let me know here...

Ribble's sale ends tomorrow I think. Consistently cheapest for new bits for me this year after the 12% discount. Otherwise keep a constant watch on STW & Pinkbike,

Will have a look. I was hoping to pick up most bits 2nd hand but some bits are probably best purchased new..

My other thought is to upgrade my bike (what's left to upgrade at least) and put the old bits on this...

I have some 150mm revelations for sale if you're interested?

singletrackworld is your best bet, most stuff for sale is well priced and there are often "spares bin" sales so you should find all you need fairly quickly.

So the build is coming along, thought I'd give an update...

So Far I have purchased / spent the following;

Frame - Cove Handjob - £90
Headset - Ritchey - £10.80
Forks - RS Recon's - £161 (Blew the budget a little for these but very good condition)
Rear Cassette - SRAM PGXXX - £0 - Spares Bin
Rear Mech - Shimano XTR 9 Speed - £20 (Part of a Bundle)
Bars - Sunline 745's - £0 incl with Rear Mech
Shifters - Shimano XT - £0 incl with Rear Mech
Front Mech - Shimano XT - £8.50 (New off eBay, 10 Speed but hoping it will work with a 2x9 set up)
Seat Post - £0 - Spares bin
Saddle - £0 - Spares bin
Clamp - On One £6.99
Pedals - Spares Bin
Chainset - Shimano XT - £0 Spares Bin (Cut tabs for single speed so need to look for a double)
Rotors - £0 Spares Bin

Spend to date = £297.29

Brakes - Where is the cheapest place to get Shimano Deores Currently, for the cost of them £60-70 I think I'll go new on these.
