Fire! when filling metal can!!
Discussion
Only an idiot would fill a fuel can whilst it's inside the vehicle (or maybe people who enjoy their car reeking of unleaded fuel).
Simply putting the cap back on the metal container would have extinguished the fire, but obviously panicking and tipping over all the cans is a far better solution.

Probably quite tricky with fire spewing out of the neck with some force and you've got the petrol nozzle in your other hand. Plus there's always the risk of the can exploding like a bomb.NightRunner said:

It's hardly hindsight, it's a blatantly ridiculous thing to do. Filling a fuel can whilst it's inside a vehicle requires a mind numbing level of stupidity. Not putting the caps back on after filling and then tipping them over in a blind panic raises the stupidity level to infinity and beyond.Deva Link said:

Fire wouldn't have been spewing out with some force, simply because air has to get in the same hole that the fire is going out. Also extremely unlikely for the can to explode, though it may well have partially collapsed from the vacuum afterwards.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
