Had a pot of loose Earl Grey in my local farm shop café the other day and it was absolutely lovely.

Always been a firm Twinings fan but after trying their Earl Grey & Breakfast loose and bags it's far superior. Lovely refreshing beverages.

Not cheap though, it was almost £4 for twelve Earl Grey bags in the farm shop (cheaper on Amazon & their site), but well worth it if you enjoy tea.

Yeah, Twinings is an example of marketing success rather than an instance of good tea.

Fact is, although the recent trend to high quality teabags : ie Teapigs etc, are of high quality , they are expensive , and not superior to loose tea.

Loose tea does offer superior tea at very good value for money.

There's no getting away from the fact that good quality tea costs money.

The larger and more unbroken the leaves, the better the quality. What's in most teabags is just the sweepings.

Jing.com is excellent. I'm having a cup of their yummy 'lychee red' right now. As is The Canton Tea Company.

There are times when only a cup of tea will do. I like the fact that it's gently refreshing without that ngggggaaaaaaargh! caffeine rush.
