Hi guys, Just thought i'd share my purchase this weekend. I've previously owned an e36 328, 330ci, Civic then decided to take the plung with the big daddy!

It's a '02 51 plate facelift. 65,000 miles, lots of history etc, Last week the owner repaired the rust on the boot along with 12months mot. Not sure what my plans are yet, Muffler delete and black front grill is all I can think of for the moment.

Let me know what you think!

I will get some more pics up once I've clayed the car next weekend!

I see you've already got your Road Angel set up wink

How about your first impressions from a driver's point of view for those of us who've never had the pleasure?

Looks like a really nice example, don't do the black grilles though IMO. Possibly the slats but not the outsides! Looks cheap.

What did you pay if you don't mind me asking? (PM if poss) Its done half the miles my 540i has but can't really justify the upgrade at the moment!

65k miles ......... genuine stamped miles ?

probably genuine but most E39's are 90k atleast now.

Nice looking though ...... I happen to know that top end these go faster in 5th than 6th whistle (155 limiter is only activated in 6th hehe )

If that's really as mint as it looks, then for gods sake don't mess about with it! Will be worth a fortune in years to come if it's OEM

Lovely motor, I'd love to own one, but with petrol and insurance for me on an M5 I fear most will be knackered by the time I can afford one.

Enjoy, not jealous at all.

Stunning looking motor, i can't imagine otherwise but have you found any negatives compared to the 330?... i've been to'ing and fro'ing between an M3 or M5 as a possible replacement for my 330, any help from the converted would be good.

I've a real soft spot for these - they're such a great looking and well proportioned car. Beautiful.

I still remember watching the Top Gear episode of Tiff drifting it around - christ that was 1999!

I picked up the car from an owner who really didnt bother about how clean it was, just did the work that needed doing and drove it, I had literally spent the whole weekend mopping/claying/polishing/sealing and dressing the car. 100% better than when I got it last week.

These cars, are they set to fall anymore on price or increase? I can say that I picked this up for the price of the ones with 120k are selling for as it was a friend of a friend. Last few bills have seen over 1k, calipers, brakes, alternator, insp II etc etc!

Love it so much already! I have a trip to the alps planned with my friends this summer, so should be a good laugfh! Me, E92 M3, E92 335d mapped and a little mx5! biggrin
