Ok as some may have understood from recent posts (and I have had a few glasses of wine) - I quite fancy something different in the garage - mainly as a Porsche replacement. The cars are great but the service is crap and the whole experience gets more bitter with every visit to the OPC. I have also had it for a few years and longer than I keep most cars.

The Mrs has authorised a new purchase (having been in a F430 Spyder this weekend) but obviously on the basis that I trade in the 997TT and preferably (to her) the M400 (she reckons it doesn't move and she does have a point but I am resisting the M400). Anyway the replacement won't be a M600 but maybe something in the same bracket wink but to move up from the 997 I do probably need to make the gesture and try and sell the Noble....but maybe not too hard and tell her it won't sell biggrin. Although I have run out of things that I wanted to do so may also look for something else to play with in addition to the Porsche replacement.

I have no idea what I have spent to the car although I could hazard a guess but looking around there are very few comparable examples. This one seems the closest recent example (same colour, similar mileage and upgrades although mine has clearly more wink).

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1986809.htm

and of couse Mole Valley recent had one up for £40k which also sold.

Now as you are aware mine has had no expense spared and is still sub-20k miles but how do you go about trying to put a price on these cars given the limited numbers currently made never mind available for sale?.

Am I mad or any useful suggestions - or do I just write an advert, make up a price and wait?. I never thought about the selling process when I bought it confused. I have no desire to remove bit and pieces (other than the wheels) and sell separately.

Sorry Urb but I won't export to Cyprus winkbiggrin

1.Your mad, keep it
2. Its a strange market. Think whats the best price you think you can get for it and stick the ad in. You can always come down in price if you get too much grief from her indoors

they are rare, so more desirable

you should sell it for late 30's is my guess

if it doesn't sell - then you keep it !

Really odd that MV had a 2005 10K miler at 40grand (sold in no time)and yet the next one in (2004/54 20K miles)is 5 grand less. I wouldn't have thought there would be that much discrepancy?
It doesn't appear you're in any hurry I'd stick it in at around 37 grand and see what happens. Its the right colour, but a funny time of year.
Same old story though, either way it's worth what someone wants to pay for it.

In my view I would wait for MV to take a deposit on there's which I reckon will be within the next 2 wks going on there past performance, we are also coming to the worst time of year to be selling a M400 so personally I would wait. If I was going to sell mine it would not be advertised for less than 47k you can always come down in price never up,depending on how you value yours test the water see if the phone rings.

If i were looking for an M400 i would easily consider paying 40K just for a well looked after standard one.

looking on the MV website today, it looks like the 35k one now has a deposit taken. Am i right in thinking that there are now no M400's for sale in the UK. How many were there to begin with? It would be nice to get an idea of remaining totals, and current mileage, colours etc...

Hi David,

I have been contemplating about having a say on this but for the fear of being contradictory, because i think you will regret selling it, and that is the pot calling the kettle black, because i keepn on selling mine and getting bored as you know, but everytime i do its only a matter of time before i start missing it.
This may be different for you because with the money you have to buy a replacement you may not miss it so much, but worthy replacements haave to be based on handling not just power, then you realise there is nothing that quite compares under 200k and the real alternatives at present you would have to be put on a waiting list or pay over the odds.
I personally would choose an R8 V10 if going to change, good value and all round good car, depreciation would not be too bad.
The other one i would be tempted by is the Supercharged Evora, 400bhp, its a great car, new and different and again is holding value well.
Now taking this into account, the Noble has increased in value 20% over the last year, supply is at an all time low, demand is high and numbers are dwindling.
Now if you do regret selling the M400, you can not buy it back, you would never get the same car, you have made it unique to your own taste as most of us have done, thats the great thing about the M12, it really is a case of that is "David Mts" car or that is "Tuxmans car" or "Gadgeroonie's car" they are all hard stamped by the long term owner.

So to find a happy medium, sell the Porsche, buy something like to R8 V10 or the Evora and keep the M400, you have 200k budget to play with so why not have best of both worlds, the trick is to simply pretend that you have sold the M400, put it in a storage facility out of sight and mind and truly play the role that you sold it, forget about it and leave it on a trickle charge.
The thing is you are bored and want a change, you just wnat to try something different, with me that means selling the M12 in order to fund the new purchase, you have the luxury of being able to try out different cars without getting rid of the M12.
Imagine if you could have all the best bits of being married but can still keep on trying out new bits of talent, you have this option, for me it is always a difficult choice as i have to get rid of the old wife before i know if i am going to like my new one and usually after a few months of living together i always want my old wife back smile

I hope that makes sense and i dont come over as a complete nutter as per usual, lol.

I know the MV car, I guess the difference in price was a 1 owner from new, 10k miles, Supplied by MV and with a Full Noble MV service history, totally standard (with only required factory upgrades), the car looked like it had just come off the production line i.e. no sign of wear on seats or carpets, M400 number plate and very few M400's on the market ! I've seen a number of Nobles but the MV car was by far the best I'd seen.

If you have a M400 now, I'd hang on to it, its unlikley you will find a better drivers car for the money and I think that they may start to hold there value or even increase a little.

How many UK factory made M400 were made ?

When i took mine in for service a few months ago, they wanted to buy it (once when i dropped it off, again when i returned to pick it up!!).

Read this thread with interest.

Have you thought about getting a 'real' Ferrari, one of only 52 made in Red/Creama RHD, (less than 2000 made in total) top speed of just under 200mph, a real eyeturner.

I'm in the unfortunate position of needing to sell my 512TR, as I've just lost my job, and the only thing that comes close is a M400.

They're going up in value and as we only do about 1K miles a year in it, its the wrong time for us to be selling it. I'd like an option to buy it back in 2 or 3 years (finance allowing), and you could buy it for your M400 plus £20k. Likewise, you could get your M400 back if you wished to. (Just an option, although realistically we don't live in an ideal world do we)

Since we have no interest in track driving, and look after our cars, you could also be assured that your car would be lovingly maintained. Although we do intend to refurbish the interior of the one we buy. (Have you seen the Noble M400 demonstrator with the new interior, very tasteful).

Ours is priced to sell, and if anybody else is interested it would be plus £25k for a more standard M400.

Since the 512TR is going for up to £75k now and expected to increase in value by £20k over the next few years I do understand that I might not be able to rebuy it back as it could be unafordable then, it will certainly increase quicker than the M400, but the least I could offer would be the option to rebuy it when we come to sell it.

The 512TR is a reliable car, the first with Bosch electrics, and stole the day at the Noble garage open day, when we went to see the M400 last weekend, so is worth considering.

Of course, it just might not be for you, but thought I'd ask.

M400 demonstrator? It's been out of production for four years!
