Front axle upgrades

Dear All,
Those of you who've read through Funksters thread may be aware of this. Others not hence the bump up. OK I now have a price for the upgraded front stub axles which eliminate the design flaw in the original arrangement (see the photos borrowed from Funkster with thanks on this link)

The original arrangement is flawed because the bolt which retains the hub is not a match for the hub that fits over it, therefore it can all get loose. The nuts loosen which allows the retaining bolt to squirm around and then the bearings go.

The replacement upgraded parts are an all in one unit that are made to exactly fit the hubs so the whole assembly is much tighter and will not loosen. The hubs come with four porsche spec hub nuts, two for the fron hubs and a pair for the back. These will not loosen like the originals.

The set of 4 nuts and two front stub axles is £300 per set. Anyone who wants a set please contact me via PH mail. The price is assuming 6% import duty.

This is a fit once and forget upgrade. Repairing the original front axle set up and fitting new bearings will not sort out the problem, it will just delay it a while until it has to be done again.

I'm having a set for my car. I have a few sets left from the first batch. Taking orders now. Delivery should be about a week to me and then whatever the Royal Sanil can manage from me to you. The cost does NOT include UK postage.

Dear Ivan,
Not sure. I hope one of the techie experts will chime in. I know Troy has sold quite a feew sets in the USA and I think those were mostly M400s so I think the answer is a yes.

I am pretty sure the answer is yes, Ivan.
I have seen the axles and one late-model M400 with them installed, and they are really high quality items.

When I stripped the old ones out it's evident straight aways that the originals are a bad design and prone to movement. I have had a problem also with a clicking noise when going from lock to opposite lock when reversing then pulling away, another member on here tracked it down to the washer making the clicking when moving under load.

Everyone's had their their axle upgrade and bolt kits for some weeks now after I sourced them, took orders, liaised with the USA fabricator, agreed a price, arranged their import, paid the supplier, paid the import tax, paid the postage and then distributed to those who'd confirmed by e-mail their agreement to pay for them.

So thanks to Richard (chillidog), Matthew (FUNKSTER), Steve (Daddysumo) and Greg for paying up so promptly.

Just waiting for two other PH members to pay up..................

hmmm seeing the picks of the original bolt make me a little worried as they are clearly not up to the job... is that really what they have in all the cars?

It is, never heard of one failing though.
