In a state of shock

To set the scene, after watching this video:

A few weeks ago, I have made sure I never eat Halal meat again, as I enjoy my meat and I do not deem it fair that the animal has to go through unfair suffering bleeding to death for a few minutes, I would not wish that upon anyone or animal.
I wasn't in my home town and went to a Subway for lunch around an hour ago. I politely asked if it was Halal meat, when I was told yes, I simply said "can I have some normal meat instead please?" not only was I shocked that there was no warnings but I was then accused of being a racist and told to leave the shop. I actually feel like writing a complaint letter to Subway that this branch deems it fit to sell meat that is barbarically slaughtered under an old barbaric and disgusting Islamic tradition to unsuspecting members of the public.
I actually am disgusted at what has just happened!
Halal and Kosher slaughter is a nasty and cruelk business but only marginally more cruel than what goes on in other uk slaughter houses and battery farms.
Refusing to eat halal meat but eating non-halal stuff on the grounds of cruelty is akin to saying you're fine with animal cruelty as long as it doesn't go 'too' far.

I seem to remember reading a quote from the head of the halal meat association or something of that nature a while ago saying all halal meat should be clearly labelled so anyone that did not agree with the practice had the opportunity to avoid buying it. This was after it was revealed most if not all of the meat served at Wembley stadium was found to be halal.
The guy serving was clearly just a moron.

Don't see how Subway can claim there meat is Halal because it patently isn't. Any cross contamination from non Halal meat means it becomes forbidden to a Muslim. There is no way in the Subways I have been to that they can prevent cross contamination. As already pointed out you cannot have Halal bacon and subway cant prevent cross contamination.
It is clearly labelled in Subways. It says it on all the posters/menu boards, a sign on the door, and all the pork products are turkey. Turkey ham, bacon etc. and are labelled as such.
I very much doubt these stories where PHers are called racist for simply asking if he could have non-halal meat. Either you're not telling the full story and you actually said something else or it didn't happen.
Also how come no one complains about Kosher meat?
Anyways I eat anything

I thought Halal was a religious thing not a race thing(and OP its actually quite dignified way to die opposed to other methods. It is also a very good way of ensuring "clean" meat. very little blood you see....."

They don't serve bacon in the halal ones (well not the one near me or the one in Manchester) it''s Turkey Bacon and Turkey ham
