When can I start on my Christmas cake?

My wife has cooked a Christmas cake for me this year, as she has done many times in the past. Yesterday it received its layer of marzipan, and today it has been iced.

Would it be ok to have some with my coffee this afternoon?

I JUST had a slice of mine, really rich. Bit early (only decided to cook it last week) but was feeling peckish this afternoon so cracked it open.

My logic - i never enjoy it that much as I'm so stuffed from Turkey, MPs (Mince Pies), Christmas Pudding.
