Apologies in advance for posting under Dieselgriff's login (this is Mrs Dieselgriff), but just to let all that know him, he had a stroke on 15 August, he's doing well, although still in hospital. It is his right side which is affected, he's walking a bit and improving each day. We hope he will be home at the end of next week. I'm sure as he recovers he will be posting with his normal enthusiasm.
He has suggested that his mishap with the diesel occurred due to stroke coming on!!!!!!

I'm currently typing this left handed despite being right handed although to be fair feeling is slowly returning to my right hand side, I'm home from nearly 3 weeks in hospital, and feeling quite optimistic.
The stroke consisted of a bleed to my left hand side of about 3-4cms long, initially I lost complete use and feeling in my right hand side, my blood pressure was up and there was a chance that I was going to need emergency brain surgery within a few hours of admittance, but luckily my honest answers (are there really any others you can give at these times) and my other signs meant this was not required after the first 12 hours.
Initially I was not able to swallow reliably, but this improved (which I'm very glad about seeing someone later who did not), and going to the toilet for the first few days was not comfortable, for a number of reasons.
My recovery to date has been remarkable apparently, with both age andbeauty pig headiness on my side, and so may it continue and I am able to return to work sooner rather than later.
I am quite young at 39 for this to happen to, I'm going to have to change a few things about my life but nothing too major, but if you're a little overweight and are drinking too much don't use BT as an ISP. (That's who I was on the phone to when it happened!).

Seems like you're in good company, you, me and Richard Hammond have had this celery thing, OK we'll exclude Hamster as good company so it's just you and me. Then I had an operation where they had to temporarily shut off blood flow to part of the brain.
Next day when I came round, fancied a salad, but only as long as it had celery in it.

Glad to hear you're Ok and recovering, we've never talked online before, but best wishes chap. Have seen what a severe stroke can do to someone, they had three years of hell before they finally lost the battle.

Really glad to hear you're making good progress. We'll have to catch up when you're out and about with the Griff again. I reckon it was that Irish duo playing at The Growl BBQ caused you so much stress that it started the whole thing off !! Was it you who we gave the CD to or was it Tuscanless Ali who had it to punish the kids with !!
