Regional petrol price variations- what do you pay?
Discussion
"Inspired" by this morning's fill up, and the realisation that a £70 tank is imminent, what do you pay, for what, and where?
My usual is BP Ultimate, from a garage in Egremont, West Cumbria: 148.9p/litre this morning.
One of the few positives of visiting the Out-laws in Carlise (<40mi away) is that I can treat the car to V-Power at a good 5-8p/litre cheaper. And I consistently get more miles to a tank with Shell...

I always try and fill up if I am incidentally near a cheaper petrol station, if I am half tank or below.
There's a fair difference locally between Super Unleaded prices between Total and Tesco. But Sainsbury's are always the cheapest, since their premium fuel premium is only 3p rather than 5p at Tesco or 8p at Total/Shell. Shell seems to give the best MPG, but Sainsbury's/Tesco are close enough that I am happy with those. (All Super Unleaded only).

The 5 that are within a mile of me in Liverpool:
Edited to amend the BP price which is 2p/litre higher than I thought
- 132.7p (Asda)
- 132.9p (Morrisons)
- 132.9p (Shell)
- 134.9p (Total)
- 139.9p (BP)

^^ Unfortunately the Supermarkets only do std unleaded locally - one of the problems in living off the beaten track... Doesn't do much for competition...
True. Where I live, the only place with Super is Total - which is hideously overpriced.Luckily Tesco where I work has got me covered on most occasions.
Posted this before in a few threads but http://www.petrolprices.com/ is really good.
Takes 2 secs to sign up and you put your post code in and it tells you the cheapest price in your area.

Only lists 2 of the 5 garages I've listed in my area, and doesn't have Asda listed as selling super (which is does) or the Shell which has VPower cheaper than Asda has Super.Takes 2 secs to sign up and you put your post code in and it tells you the cheapest price in your area.
