thanks to Bamford Rose I now have it. My car went off with Mike on Sunday night to have the BR upgraded manifolds and cats fitted. I had a QS Supersports back box fitted last year which went a long way to improving the sound but still left me wanting a bit more. The next logical step after I'd decided to shelve my hunt for a DBS was to go with BR's exhaust upgrade which should liberate about an extra 40BHP, improved torque and some more noise. I picked the car up on Wednesday and was delighted with the result. I initially left the QS Supersports box on but as some of you who replied to my previous thread had thought, it was indeed way too loud. A quick blast was all I needed to know it needed switching back to the OEM box or risk divorce. Just over an hour later and job done...or almost. There was a problem with the vacuum pump that means the bypass valves remain inactive. The bypass switch fitted by BR therefore didn't work. As it was getting late and I had a long trip back north we decided to leave it (effectively minus fuse 22 position). It is however just what I wanted. The can feels more supple and pulls better. The noise is awesome with some nice pops and cracks on lifting off the loud peddle. A touch louder than the QS Supersports was by itself but I didn't find it obtrusive or droning on the motorway cruise back. Once the bypass valves are sorted (BR will do this when I'm next down their way) I'll have the option of quietening it down for long trips if I ever feel the need. The noise has a bit more bass to it than the QS system which I like. The icing on the cake is an improvement in fuel economy which is hopefully going to be 3-4mpg. So I reckon in about 50 years it will have paid for itself! 
I have no commercial interest in Bamford Rose and am just a very satisfied customer. Mike and Adrian have both been very friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing has been too much trouble. Bamford Rose have taken my Aston experience to a whole new level and I now have the Aston I always wanted. I didn't think it was possible for my grin to get bigger but it has!
I can certainly recommend the exhaust system upgrade for anyone wanting better performance and sound.

Yes mine's a 2010 4.7. I went to a Stratstones AM dealer event at Seaham Hall today and drove a 2012 model V8V to compare mine. Getting back into my car afterwards I certainly felt there was a noticeable improvement in performance especially towards the top of the rev range. The sound was immensely better with my mods although obviously the demo car had fuse 22 in situ. I have to say the brakes in the 2012 car are bigger and better.Most of the people that upgrade seem to have 4.3s, is the additional performance very noticeable on a 4.7?
Of course when you've spent a wedge on an upgrade you may be more likely to say that you notice an improvement to justify your expense even if it's not that apparent. Mike at BR has also said previously that the extra noise can give an illusion of better performance (probably more applicable to sports exhausts than cats and manifold changes). The BR website has graphs showing the power gains seen in a 4.7 with their manifolds and cats. It would appear to be improved and from my humble perspective I would say that I feel it is better. I certainly enjoyed driving my car far more than the 2012 car
